Getting Restless? Keep an eye on the Numbers

Whenever you are getting overly impatient and feel like things are just slow, shift your attention to the numbers. When you get “stuck” and feel like you are not making much progress, it can help to have everything in black and white.

Take some time to look at your overall business progress. Note your leads, sales, conversions, traffic, all the numbers that you can come up with. Look for trends. Obviously, upward trends are what you want to see, but even when you see a downward trend it can be helpful because it will give you something to focus on and you can develop goals related to improving that area.

Nothing is better than taking a look at your overall business and how you are doing month over month. The numbers always gives us the clarity we need. There are times for philosophy, but sometimes you only have to check the real basic numbers and do the math to get the real answers!

Developing Buyer Personas

I recently read the article below and the following paragraph specifically stood out for me:

“Both search and social media are driven by the person who needs or wants information. So, in addition to ensuring that your content gets found by your prospects, you need to get inside their heads and give them what they want, when they need it, in the way they want to get it.”

Part of being successful with online marketing is understanding who you are trying to reach. It can be very helpful to develop the buyer personas, or the “examples” of those who are truly going to be your customers. You are looking for the real people who are going to choose the products or services that you have to offer. When you understand the buyer personas you are targeting, you are going to be more effective with your marketing efforts.

As you segment your marketing efforts to target different buyer personas, you will find that you need fewer leads to make the same number of sales. Carefully consider who it is that you are trying to reach, and build your marketing strategy around these buyer personas. Get inside their heads and really connect!

Imagine exactly how it would go if you were to be directly presenting your products and services to your potential buyers. When you can present your ideas, your products and your services concisely, and in a way that instantly gains a connection to that potential buyer, you are going to be much more successful.
