“Well....” Dwyer tugged at his collar with one hand and tightened his grip around the tea cup with the other. He had thought long and hard about the situation. He had taken the time to look at it from different angles. He even dreamed about it during his naps. He didn’t hate his father for putting him in the situation. No. Was he bitter about it? Of course.

“No. I suppose not.” The reply was quiet, a mere whisper, as he dunked the cup down under the soapy water. “Just for a while longer, maybe.” His hands moved quickly to scrub at the crusty cup. Making sure to get into every crevice of it. “I don’t hate you or anything if that’s what you’re getting at. So, you don’t have to worry.”
