I was tagged by bwenner to answer 11 questions back when I was mystical-machine-gun. I’m supposed to add 11 new questions and tag other people, but since I don’t have the constitution needed to follow instructions, instead of tagging I’ll let this here for anyone who feels like answering the new questions (go ahead and don’t be shy).

01. Do you believe in free will? Why or why not?

I believe in lies. What I really believe is that everything that constitutes our human reality is basically a social construction. Without humans bringing meaning to all phenomena that can be perceived through the five known senses, reality wouldn’t be what we believe it is. Does the dog believe in loyalty? Or is it all just a biochemical chain reaction that we like to romanticize and call loyalty out of a misplaced sense of self-importance? Would it really be the end of the world if suddenly a plague started taking out huge chunks of the human population? Would the world really end and would it be a tragedy? No it wouldn’t, we tell ourselves that it would because we’re social creatures and the social thread we’ve woven demands that we believe in a certain amount of things in order to not enter into conflict with our social realm. Why? Because otherwise we would suffer, unfortunately. Most of human suffering comes from social conflicts. So that’s why we believe in lies, it’s unavoidable. As social creatures we depend on each other, each individual depends on another individual and so on, and that dependence demands we believe the things we’ve constructed together. This thing we’ve constructed (the only thing we’ve created, if you ask me) is the concept. The concept is a lie. Can the cat see the tree and engage in different activities that might be related to it? Yes. Can the cat understand the word tree, or árbol, or Baum, and make the connection between the thing and the sound/concept? I don’t think the cat can do that. It’s irrelevant to the cat. So, do I believe in free will? Yes I do, but I always remember to take it for what it is: a lie. (yea im very nietzchean when it comes to this, read On Truths and Lies in a Non-Moral Sense)

02. What’s the weirdest and/or most embarrassing music you listen to? Or, are you ever embarrassed by the music you listen to?

I’m not embarrassed by the music I like. Savage Garden is the most pop-ish and accesible kind of music I enjoy, and I’m not feeling guilty about it. I’m very honest when I say I enjoy listening to Swans or Steven Wilson (I once got a strange reaction out of a guy when I told him I love Einstürzende Neubauten, he was like ”no fucking way! you’re batshit crazy”. It was great fun)

03. What’s your least favorite book?

Ugh I don’t know. Little Women, probably.

04. What’s your weirdest public transportation experience?

Puking while on a bus filled with people.

05. How do you like your coffee and/or tea?

I’m a hot chocolate kinda person.

06. What is one of the most interesting or strange things about you?

I find buttons disgusting, and I have trouble with stuff with certain shapes and patterns (like beehives).

07. Where were you born and where do you call home?

I was born on Planet Earth, and right now I’m feeling like my home could only be the vast space between galaxies, where nothing and everything happens (or being more realistic, I was born in Buenos Aires and my home is my family, but that’s a boring answer).

08. Do you believe there are any politicians who aren’t liars?

See answer to the first question (we’re all liars).

09. Worst experience with a roommate?

When we were on vacation, I had to share a cottage with my sister, and she was freaking out over weird noises at night, so I had to put the TV on and wait until she was asleep in order to get some rest. We were pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but all doors and windows were locked and she really freaks out over the tiniest things.

10. What video games did you grow up with?

Sega games, mostly. PC games from late 90s. Also arcade games.

11. How did we start talking, or how did you start following me/how’d I start following you?

I started following you when I found the Millennium and Carnivále graphics you made. You’re also a Philosophy student, which is something I was too back when I first found your blog.

I'd notice. I'd certainly be disappointed, which is more of an emotional reaction than it sounds, because I don't pay attention to a lot of things on Tumblr to be affected one way or the other.

Ahh, this makes me happy because I feel like you post things that are relevant to my life but I don't think I really post anything relevant to yours. I'm just glad anyone puts up with me most of the time.

I’d say call your psych and ask if they think it’s a good idea to start with half the dose until you acclimate up to it and don’t feel so wiped out by it. It’s great not to have anxiety but it’s not good to be too tired to function.

So... you were right. He told me to cut them in half :)

Cut them in half or quarters. Mine balance out because of my massive caffeine addiction and horrible insomnia.

I don't know if I can do this, cause I've just started treatment. My psychiatrist said I'd feel sleepy like this for a while, but christ, I feel like I was hit by a truck. Maybe I should try the caffeine thing, sounds helpful. Thanks :))
