So I’m finally up to an era of #blackgirlmagic #horror where the black women’s representation in film is not seen as a threatening character of ill-repute and if anything the mere notion comes off as antiquated and on the wrong side of history. 💁🏾‍♀️I believe the 70s is one of the first times black women are getting in touch with their roots and loving them as well as themselves in an open way that gives them pride and worth. Also showing them as multidimensional characters furthers the lines of being seen as regular, shmegular natural women with the same plights as everyone else.
