It was raining again. Most days, her body would enjoy the rain, the dazzling amount of water that splashed on her body or how the world seemed so beautiful in the rain, but with all that has happened lately, the rain was too cold and she needed shelter of some sort, perhaps an umbrella that people used, but she left hers at her dorm and she wondered if other souls would be most gracious and let her under their umbrella. With a sigh, she watched others dance away on the concrete with others and umbrellas of variety of colors and designs. Some of them appeared in couples, one male and one female, or two males, rarely did she find other puzzles with two females, strange, how they all knew that they were meant to be together, how their puzzles fit together like Socrates theory, or was it Aristotle? Minhee would have to ask Hanyoung, sometime soon, it would be strange if she didn't. But her chocolate eyes scoured the area for someone she knew, it wasn't heavily populated and most students didn't venture out here on rainy days.
But in the corner of her eye, she noticed a familiar figure, the one who was crowned with laurel wreaths and beauty that couldn't be compared to others. And she paused, her thoughts in a mess of words and comprehension, but with a slight smile, she tapped the boy on the shoulder and said, "It's been awhile since I've seen you on campus, Prince Jongdae." It was strange, did princes enjoy the dismal rain as well? Was it beauty to their eyes or was it something that they despised as well? "I'd hate to be rude, but may I accompany you under this umbrella? The rain is too sad for me today," Minhee said, tilting her head to the side. How troublesome for him, she thought, it would be horrid to ask such favors and yet she asked him, she was probably a burden to his being, the demons would attack sooner or later and she'd fall, but for now she was basking in the presence of a royal.
Child!AU: Our characters suddenly find themselves responsible for an infant and attempt to look after it until they can find who the child belongs to with little luck.
“He’s your child, take care of him," the message on the child’s jacket said. The young boy was staring at both Luhan and Jongdae with a confused stare, and the two were staring back at him just as confused.
"Ha, so you are straight,” Luhan said teasingly, a smirk creeping on his lips. He sighed and shook his head to the sides. “You should’ve worn a condom—” Jongdae furiously placed his hand over Luhan’s lips in order to keep him quiet from saying anything innapropriate in front of the child.
The kid walked inside Jongdae’s appartment like if it really was his house. Jngdae and Luhan were having a normal afternoon of pizza and video games until they heard someone knocking on their door. And it was the child. A three year-old child that probably had no idea of what his mom’s name was or his address.
"What are you going to do with him?” Luhan asked, both of them were looking at the kid from afar. He felt Jongdae’s glare piercing through his skin, and he quickly cleared his throat. “Hey— This is your house and if I’m not mistaken, he’s probably your child, I’m not going to interefere,” he quickly explained himself. “Besides, I don’t even like kids-” He said, but he felt another pair of eyes glaring at him. And wow, it was the kid the one who was glaring holes into his skin.
It took about three minutes for Jongdae to explain to Luhan that he was not the father of the kid. In fact, Jongdae didn’t take more than ten seconds explaining his situation; what took long was the fact that Luhan didn’t believe him. It was until Jongdae mentioned the fact that he was still a virgin when Luhan was convinced. “Yeah, I can buy that,” Luhan said, smirking a bit.
Luhan was not obviously going to leave his friend alone in this kind of situation, but he wasn’t going to get too involved either. “Maybe you could just leave him outside of your place until his mom comes back and takes him with her,” Luhan suggested, but his response from the other was a cold glare.
Jongdae then thought about the possibility of the mom thinking the dad of the child was living in that place; maybe she wasn’t aware that someone new was living there. Luhan suggested that maybe the mom of the kid just randomly picked an apartment to leave the child, but Jongdae told him that that was probably not the situation.
Jongdae said he had to go check who the previous owner of his apartment was, and so that Luhan would have to stay with the kid and take care of him until he was back. Luhan was about to protest, but the stare at Jongdae’s face was enough to just accept.
Luhan’s time with the child was agonizing, actually. The kid had started calling him umma, regardless of how many times Luhan had repeated to him that he was a man, not a woman. The kid couldn’t care less about that and kept on calling him umma. Jongdae was backk two hours later, having found the name he was looking for.
But the kid was hungry. And crying. And he smelled bad.
Jongdae scolled Luhan for not taking care of the child, but Luhan quickly explained that he had never been alone with a kid before for more than three minutes. So they tried to make something for the kid to eat.
"Can he eat ramen?" Luhan asked while looking around for food in the kitchen. Jongdae was rocking the child in his arms, trying to stop him from crying. "Y’know what— Fuck this—" Luhan growled, grabbing some cookies and a glass of milk. "Babies drink milk, don’t they? I mean, they suck milk from their mom’s boobs, right?"
The kid ate the cookies and the milk and he was calmed, which meant there was silence in the house again. But he still smelled bad.
They tried bathing the child, but he cried again and splashed most of the water out of the bathing tub, causing Luhan to slip down and fall on his ass and for Jongdae to fall into the tub with all his clothes on. After some minutes, Luhan also had to join the tub in order to keep the baby still so that Jongdae could clean him.
But the baby had no diapers or underware. So Jongdae had to run to the nearest drug store in order to buy some diapers. He took around fifteen minutes, fifteen minutes in which the kid was running around Jongdae’s house completely naked and wet and Luhan chasing after him with a towel. He was finally able to trap the child in the towel and he kept it wrapped around him so he wouldn’t run away again.
Jongdae had gotten the address of the real father, so they went with the baby to the metro in order to get to the house of this man. Everyone was staring at the two of them as one of them was carrying the baby and the baby was calling the other umma. They looked like a potential gay couple.
Getting to the man’s house wasn’t difficult.
Once the owner of the house and the possible father of the child opened up, Luhan asked: “Have you had any sort of sexual relationship with a lady in the past year?” To what the man replied with a yes. After that, Jongdae made his appearence with the baby in his hands. “Then he’s probably yours—”
They went into the man’s house as the latter called the possible mother of the child. It turned out that he was the actual father of the child and that the woman confused apartments.
Luhan and Jongdae left the place after saying good bye to the child, and Luhan mumbled how he would never have a kid in his entire life.
