Holding Belle's hand, Nicholas Gold stepped forward to roaring applause and bowed to a standing ovation. The cheers and claps were exhilarating, he realised, and he could feel his heart rate quicken and his mind grow fuzzier. It was a good kind of buzz, one that he doubted he'd be able to get from any of the number of drinks his father had in the liquor cabinets and on the counters at home.

As they returned to the back stage, he felt Belle's eyes on him, and he turned to her. They were so close, and there was no one nearby. It was impossible to tell who had moved first (later, a kid would say it had been Nick), but he fell toward her in that impossible sort of way, and they met each other half-way.

Belle looked above her book at the man, a somewhat puzzled expression over her face, “Gabriel…?” She asked, closing her book and looking up at him, “I am your best friend. Where is this coming from? Is something wrong?” She asked, concern contouring her face. 

Gabe sighed, shaking his head. He knew he was being ridiculous, but he felt so betrayed. Perhaps it was due to the full moon looming just two days away -- it always did heighten his emotions and make him rather unpredictable, even to himself. "I'm sorry...I just...I saw you with Gold the other day. I thought you were done with him, B. You didn't even tell me about it."

Invisible Threads || Belle & Milah

The last thing Milah remembered was having her heart ripped out, seeing Killian's face as she felt her chest tighten and then... nothing.

And that's all there had been for what seemed like forever. She was barely aware of where she was, or what was happening, and only felt the soft tug and pull of the tides, as if she was the Jolly Roger. Well, if this was the afterlife, she was fine with that. 

But then something had changed. She felt a different kind of tug, a magnetic pull that brought her back, and now she was laying, quite dazed, below the deck of a ship. It felt vaguely like Killian's ship,  but she was too disoriented to tell. Her body seemed to be doing some kind of reboot before she could function again. 

Laid out on the floor, Milah was dressed much the same as she had been before she had died, pirate clothes and all. Her sword was missing, but that was the only difference. Preoccupied, she didn't hear the noise of someone entering below the deck.
