Perfumer's Notes: bergamot, pink pepper, guatemalan cardamom, apricot, plum, turkish rose, incense, atlas cedar, patchouli
My Impressions: the sweetness of orange blossom or other citrus notes. a hint of powder. resins, possibly labdanum, elemi or frankincense. also a synthetic, sharp ozone aldehyde note that is also calling up a whiff of a chemical perfumy smell
ten minutes: a simple, sweet citrus & resins blend - maybe some stone fruit in there too, cherries perhaps. despite the mix of interesting notes, the overall feel is bland & generic. I know other juices that do these notes far more appealingly, like L'Artisan’s Passage D'Enfer (http://allofthescents.tumblr.com/search/D'Enfer)
twenty minutes: the perfumy scent begins to dominate. very synthetic & plasticy smelling - fuggying & overwhelming the other notes. also a hint of baby powder developing
half an hour: synthetic note is fading out, leaving me with powder citrus & resin accords. boooooooring!
an hour: bland, stale, mediocre. I’m unpleasantly surprised that this juice has several accords that I adore & yet smell so flat & uninviting on me. I blame that acrid synthetic note; even though it’s no longer dominant, it’s still in there, making a mess of things under the surface
two hours: still a boring, bland, messy melange of ick
three & a half hours: the juice has begun to morph into a purely synthetic grossness. I’m starting to think all By Killian perfumes use a base ingredient (a preservative maybe?) that just doesn’t agree with me. I’ve had this same issues with a few other brands, most notably biehl parfumkunstwerke, which invariably turns into a swamp gassy stench on me
five hours: still a stinker. luckily, the sillage is so low that I can’t actually smell it on me unless I press my nose to my wrist, which I won’t be doing anymore
this is why I changed my perfume buying so that I’d purchase two or three samples from a number of brands, instead buying half a dozen from one or two brands - if the first couple samples are total stinkers, then I don’t want to have wasted my money buying so many samples that are all going to dry down into pure ick on me

Perfumer's Notes: neroli, bergamot, pink pepper, coriander, iris, jasmine, rose, honeysuckle, orange blossom, musk, vanilla, civet, caramel, sugar, labdanum
My Impressions: sweet, soft, white musk. hard candies rolled in powdered sugar, babies sleeping on soft white blankets. floral & fruity. orange blossom & neroli
twenty minutes: no development or progression of notes. the juice is sinking into my skin nicely; it's melding well with my chemistry. very feminine & girly
half an hour: becoming more gourmand; floral is receding. vanilla & more sugar-sweetness coming out. a hint of caramel. bourbon vanilla caramels infused with orange blossom water
an hour: creamy vanilla-caramel-orange blossom floral. nicely balanced between the gourmand & the floral
an hour & a half: going back to more gourmand, but all notes holding true. labdanum is present at the bottom, giving it a warm, rounded-out scent
two hours: holding true. the only real change in the dry down has been an added elegance to the scent. I don't know if it's a note that's so faint that I can't name it, or if the dry down is helping dissipate the intensity of the sweetness, but the scent is more elegantly feminine than girly-girl
three hours: gaining a hint of powder. labdanum note is stronger, balanced beautifully with the orange blossom & a hint of sugar & caramel. also, the sillage has been impressive this whole time. it'd definitely radiating out from my body, but softly, like wisps of scent are detaching & waving about
final notes: this is a gorgeous scent that combines gourmand & floral beautifully. I can see myself using up the sample. however, the lack of deeper development is disappointing; I'd rather have a perfume that goes through more metamorphoses on the way through the dry down. not a keeper for me, but it would be a keeper to anybody who loves gourmand florals
