I was gonna do trickster angst but then I remembered I suck at drawing angst.

Stupid sad Actor AU scenario bye.

what if while they're on stage, a freak accident happens and a beam lands on Marco during a scene where Jean has to dramatically reach out for him. "Fret not, Damian," Jean voices, swinging his arm towards Marco - or Damian- who sobs into his hands. "I've a solution t-" just as his hand reaches an inch from Marco's trembling form, the beam above them crashes down. The metal skims Jean's fingers, his lines caught in his throat and his eyes widen. The shrill scream that pierces his ears is his own, and then thousands more follow his lead. Marco doesn't die, but he's in a coma. Several bones were crushed and broken, his skull suffered from traumatic injury, his lungs punctured by broken ribs, his legs snapped at the tibula and fibula. Since then, Jean hasn't taken up another acting job. He just sits in Marco's room, holding his hand, waiting for Marco to come out of his coma.

Marco is in what the doctors say "permanent coma". He won't wake up.

Jean holds in the tears when the doctor leaves and he forcefully grabs on to Marco's hand, squeezes it, and sobs openly.

Jean screams for Marco to wake up and goes into a frenzy and accidentally knocks out the plug thing for life support.

The doctors come in and push Jean out of the room to get the thing back up and running so they don't lose Marco. Jean's pretty much dead to the world when he hears the door shut behind him and the doctors blabbering. His back finds the wall and he ends up sliding down, and he rests his head in his hands and screams bloody murder.

Jean killed Marco.

Jean has night terrors the entire month after Marco's death, where he relives the scene where Marco was crushed by the beam. And in that dream Marco's face is barely visible, but Jean can see the blood running over his eyes, and the grim line of his mouth. And he can barely hear the murmur, that soft sound of Marco calling his name. he thinks it's to help him, so when he pushes himself forward to try to save Marco, and he gets on his knees to try to lift the beam up, he actually hears the words. but they're not pleading- they're accusing.

"You did this."

"This is your fault."

"This should be you."

"You killed me."
