New #review: I had a hard time putting By Imperial Decree down, as is usual whenever I read a book by Angel Martinez. I loved the fact that a random quirk of fate brought these two virtual book club friends - who were already falling for each other's personality - face to face and gave them the opportunity to fall for each other for real. Marsh is a down-to-earth (no pun intended), disabled mechanic living on the space station that salvages Shiro's ship. He rescues Shiro, an Imperial prince/artist, who is fleeing from obsessive suitors (and maybe a little from his heavy obligations as a member of the Imperial family). They grow close in the little time they have together, especially after realizing that they actually sort of know each other already, before the stalker-suitors show up, causing all manner of chaos.
