s5 rewrite but they've just defeated the mind flayer and vecna in the upside down, and all of them have at least one injury (bleeding, sprained, etc)
and Will was using his powers but also trying to fend off vecna (using the hive mind, and venca was trying to make him hurt his friends, as they're connected)
Joyce is practically wrapped around his side, trying not to burst into tears. Jonathan has a hand on his shoulder, grounding and firm. and El is standing in front of him, hands on his forearms, attempting to calm him down. both of their noses are bleeding.
Nancy and Robin have already hugged him tight, Dustin and Lucas have already shaken him softly - cheering at how cool he was. Hopper has already patted him on the back, saying 'good job, kid' with a relieved look in his eyes. even Steve has a soft look on his face, relaxed shoulders.
and Will is a little confused, asking 'wait, you're all here?'
Dustin gives him a look, though it has no bite in it, 'yeah, we had to deafeat this thing!' and gestures to the mind flayer that is collapsed off to the side of them all. venca has already been thrown across the space (do with that what you will)
Will still looks confused, glancing over at El who's now standing off to the side. He begins to ask another question, but is cut off by Mike crashing into him - wrapping his arms around him tight and squeezing.
all Will can register is him and the whispered words into his ear.
"I thought I lost you, Will. oh my god"
