"I hadn't realized that Founder's Day was meant to be a day of romance, too..." Qorban trailed off to the wolf next to him, noting the fact that it seemed some wolves were enjoying the attention they received from others. Was this simply because the celebration had them in a certain way, or was it also tradition for wolves that were of age to participate by "finding" their mate and starting their family? It was curious, really, but he understood that cultures were different and he knew that there were some things he celebrated that he was sure others didn't.

"But I suppose, a handsome wolf like yourself wouldn't have any trouble spending time with whoever it might be you fancy, hm? A beauty such as yourself probably has a line of wolves waiting for just the chance that you'll give them a fraction of your time."

"You're one of the ranch hands, right?" Victor asked, approaching the other wolf as he held a basket in his hands. Earlier in the week had had to gather as many of the apples and citruses as he could for the cider and ales that they were to be serving, but he had made sure to save a few for one particular reason. "I was uh... getting some of the fruits from the trees for the drinks for today's festivities, but I managed to keep a couple of them so that... the horses could have a treat of their own?"

"Sir?" Omer spoke as he approached the forge, a basket of sweet bread in his hands. He looked at the older wolf with a soft smile, one that was friendly but also apologetic as he began to approach the blacksmith. "I noticed that you weren't in the dining hall this morning, and I thought I'd bring you some bread in case you needed something to eat before lunch..." Moving to set the basket aside, on an unused table, Omer swallowed in his throat. "I hope I didn't bother you."

As he looked on at the wolves enjoying the festivities, all Solomon could think of was the mere fact that the last time he had truly enjoyed a celebration like this was over a year ago when he was set to marry his mate. Their celebration was grand, his father not caring about the cost of the event so long as it was a spectacle and one to talk about for ages, and he could remember the sheer joy he had as he looked into his lover's eyes and proclaimed his love for him. And how he felt as the two of them marked one another.

A hand moved to rub the mating mark on the side of his neck, ironically the side that wasn't covered in burns, to run along the crescent shape scar with a sigh. How long was he going to have this? How long was he going to be plagued with the grief of losing his mate? How long was he going to feel absolutely betrayed by them for being with another wolf?

Just as he was about to get up and leave, though, a wolf moved to sit next to him and the scent was very obviously Omega - and he lifted his head to see that the wolf that sat next to him was gorgeous. Smooth ochre skin, beautiful eyes, and freckles that adorned his cheekbones... It was enough to draw the Alpha's attention, and though Solomon knew he wasn't in the best place to connect with someone on an emotional level... He was ready to connect on a physical level.

If only it would help him get rid of the pain that plagued him.

"Well, isn't Mother Wolf blessing me..." he spoke as he sat upright and flashed a brilliant smile at the other, his dimples beginning to etch into his cheeks. "What did I deserve to have such a beautiful wolf sit next to me?
