@borimmortal had mentioned he would like to see some fanart of Glaa and Byoom, so here’s a quick little fun attempt at drawing these two wonderful characters.
This was so fun to draw, and ended up reminding me of a kids cartoon or something. Which I never realized how much I would love a Glaa and Byoom cartoon until now.

Dive:Water or Fire types?
this one is actually kind of hard, um
fire i think? there’s a lot of cute fire types, a lot of water types are like. fish. and i don’t dislike fish but i’m more fond of hot fluffy pokemon
regarding "walking simulators" do you think that subject matter also plays into it? Like the Stanley Parable got universal praise as far as I know and Gone Home got a lot of flack even though they are fairly similar types of games.
the stanley parable is a lot funnier (gone home still has some good jokes but it’s not A Comedy Game) and has all sorts of branching paths. 95% of those paths just require you to keep walking while taking the correct turns, but that’s The Joke, so people weren’t too mad about it. it also has a lot more blatant commentary on games and references to other games. i think that made it a lot more palatable for a lot of people
and i’m not going to claim that misogyny and homophobia are ENTIRELy to blame for gone home’s more divisive reputation–a lot of the game’s critics just aren’t really into humble, down-to-earth stories like that in games. that and the lack of normal mechanical challenge mean that there really just isn’t much there for the average Gamer Dude
but, well…it’s not hard to look at the steam reviews complaining about the lesbian romance and the focus on women and realize that it’s a factor
