as keira enveloped her in her arms, the darkness cloaked the two of them. they didn't have to hug for it to work, just being in contact was good enough, but they did. even in tests like these, it was just that little bit of reassurance. i'm here, you're here, we got this. phoebe gave her sister a squeeze in return and let her sister take the lead for the moment. she relaxed, allowing herself to recover some of the energy she'd expended from using her own powers while keira used her's. "tell me when you're ready," she whispered, closing her eyes.

lizzie liked it up here on the roof of the dorm building. she knew they weren't supposed to be able to get up here, but it was decently quiet if you got far enough away from the building's hvac units. she didn't tell very many people that she came up here, but hope was one of those trusted few despite their occasional spats. she looked up as the blanket was draped around her shoulders and followed hope with her gaze.

"thanks," she smiled softly. it felt like just a week or two ago it had been summer and she'd been bringing a portable fan up here so that she wouldn't be sweating bullets. "how'd you know i was up here? did you bring any snacks? i've been considering going to the vending machine, but this sunset's too pretty to miss."
