Hi there! Thanks for the request! I had a bit of inspiration strike, so I hope you enjoy! The anon's talking about this fic!
Regrets Are Sweet (But My Heart is Stronger)
c!Grian x gn!Reader (one-sided)
Summary: You’ve moved on, but he doesn’t know.
Notes: Angsty, unrequited love (but reversed this time :3), could be read as mild yandere. The server that the reader has moved to is left up to you, pick your favorite!
This place is peaceful. You’ve carved out a nice little life for yourself on this server, made new friends and found a place for yourself among them. Here, you can walk around without seeing his builds, talk to people without hearing his voice, and live without a remnant of him in your mind. It’s been months since he’s crossed your thoughts.
“Thanks for the help!” You wave as the others strap on their elytras, waving back and blasting off with rockets to return to their homes. Turning, you smile. Your newest build stands proudly near your house, and despite the vast number of cows held inside, only a fraction of their “moo”s can be heard from where you are. The barn started as a personal project, but when your friends saw the skeleton of a build, they insisted on pitching in- and it’s all the better for it.
Sighing contentedly, you began to make your way back to the entrance of your home, stopping short when there’s a buzz on your communicator. Pulling it out of your pack, your eyes widen when you see the message in the general chat.
<Grian has joined the game.>
Why was he here? You stayed in place, frozen for a moment, unable to peel your attention from the message. Greetings came from your servermates, a couple questioning who he was, and he responded happily, unaware of your predicament.
Soon, another message came through:
<Grian whispered to you: Y/N! Where are you?>
It took a moment to register. Thinking for a heartbeat, you tapped out a response.
<You whispered to Grian: Don’t come to me. I’ll meet you at spawn.>
His next message was an enthusiastic acknowledgement. Stiffly, you packed a few essentials for traveling anywhere away from home, delaying as long as you thought was reasonable before setting out. Why had Grian come after you after so long, and after you left so abruptly?
When you landed at spawn, Grian was pacing at the top of a nearby hill. Upon seeing you, he grinned.
“Y/N! There you are!” He rushed forward, wings spread so he could make large leaps to clear the distance between you. Before he could hug you, though, you stepped to the side, and he pouted dramatically. “Is that any way to treat your ticket home?”
You stayed still, only tilting your head slightly. “What do you mean?”
He holds out a hand. “You can come home! Don’t you want to come back to Hermitcraft with me?”
“I am home.” Your expression remained blank. “I have friends here- family, even. You were the only one I was close to there, and that tie was severed long ago.”
Grian frowns slightly, gesturing pleadingly as he spoke. “Y/N, that tie isn’t severed. Look, I’m here! I want you to come home- I care a lot about you!”
Shaking your head, you stared at him. “I already told you. I’m staying here. I’m happy here, without you.”
“But I’m not!” He was speaking far too loudly, almost shouting in his earnestness. “Y/N, I love you!”
“You shattered my heart.” There was a chill to your voice that had never been directed at Grian before, and he stepped back. “There’s no room left there for you. I am happier and stronger without you.”
Turning, you began to leave.
“Y/N, wait!” He called out behind you. You heard the flutter of wings as he rushed forward, and you turned for a moment to glare at him. Grian shrunk back, but didn’t back down. “I’ve searched every server to find you. Please! Just give me a chance?”
You laughed. “You had every chance. You chose Mumbo and Scar, remember? I’m sure they’re waiting for you at home. Just leave, Grian.”
His head dropped, and he looked so sad you almost pitied him. “They’re… We’re not together anymore. They were never my first choice. It was always you, Y/N.”
It tore at your heart, the way your former friend looked back up at you. Grian reached out a hand again, tears plainly welling in his eyes. “Please, Y/N. I need you.”
And yet you set me to the side, every time. The words echoed in your brain, though you couldn’t bring yourself to say them out loud. “I’m not leaving my home. Goodbye, Grian.”
Turning once again, you didn’t hear any further pleads he may have made. Pulling out your communicator, you tabbed over to the map and began to return home.
Grian x clingy reader ❤️ Reader can't help but always somehow snuggle up behind or with him and is very chaotic. The relationship is like "Reader no!" "Reader yES!" If that makes sense ●.●
I always see the reader having to restrain Grian’s chaos, so it was interesting to try writing him as the one having to keep the reader in check! I chose to focus more on the chaos than the clingy aspect, since I have some cuddle fics in the work and wanted something a little different, but I hope you’re happy with the result!
Chaos Couple
c!Grian x gn!Reader (romantic)
Summary: In your relationship, you’re the more chaotic partner! Sometimes Grian has to restrain your energy for a change.
Warnings: I don’t think any are needed!
Note: First season 9 fic! I’m excited to see how this goes!
Grian poked his head into iEnchant, quickly scanning the room. The only person inside was the owner, who was restocking the barrels of enchanted books. He waved to Grian, calling out a greeting.
Grian frowned as his gaze came to rest on Impulse. “Have you seen Y/N?”
Impulse shook his head, looking thoughtful, then switched to a nod. “Yeah actually, I think they were heading around the lake towards spawn.”
Grian’s face turned to one of panic. “Oh, void.” Without a farewell, he rushed out of Impulse’s shop. Frantically, he started flapping into the air, a few feathers drifting to the ground in his wake as Grian flew over the water to the rock that marked spawn.
Stumbling as he landed, Grian began searching, ducking in and around buildings. After taking a moment to catch his breath, he called out. “Y/N!” You didn’t respond.
Grian trotted along the server’s paths, periodically calling out your name. “Y/N! Y/N?” He passed a few hermits, stopping only long enough to ask if they knew where you were before biting off a quick goodbye and carrying on the search. He knew you couldn’t be left to your own devices for too long, and it had already been long enough.
In his haste to find you, Grian didn’t notice the smile and restrained giggles from Scar, who shook his head no when asked if he’d seen you. “Are you sure? I need to find them or the server will end up in chaos.” At Scar’s denial, he quickly continued on.
The reason for Scar’s amusement was obvious to any other hermit. You stood not five metres from Grian, following him less than stealthily from the bushes.
When you’d heard your partner's calls, you wandered over to see what he wanted. Upon finding him, you grinned, seeing the potential for a prank. For a good twenty minutes, you followed Grian. Each time he approached another hermit, you signalled to them to keep quiet. Scar came the closest to giving you away, but luckily Grian didn’t seem to notice.
You finally decided you’d tormented Grian enough. When he entered Doc’s shop, you snuck up to the doorway and waited. Finally, he exited.
Launching yourself forward, you swung your arms around Grian’s neck and planted a kiss on his lips. “Hello love!”
At the force of your hug, Grian took a step back, stabilising the both of you against the wall. Meeting your eyes, his shocked expression melted into a smile, and he wrapped his arms around you. “Y/N. My dove. Where have you been?”
You grinned. “Planning a prank on X.”
“Void, Y/N!” He laughed. “No! We pranked him last week!”
You pulled back a bit, releasing Grian from your embrace so you could put on an exaggerated thinking expression. “Hmmm… Yes, Y/N!”
Grian sighed.
Leaning forward, you pecked him on the mouth again. “There is no such thing as too much chaos!” You jumped back, dancing out of Grian’s reach before he could hold you back.
He leaped forward, using his wings to gain speed you had no way of matching. Holding you against him, he pressed his lips to yours, grinning as he pulled away. “I can’t argue with that.”
hello hello, hope youre having a lovely day, could you do a grian x cat hybird!reader where grian accidentally makes the reader purr for the first time and the reader is embarrassed about it? they/them pronouns please!
Hello! I hope your day is great too! The title was always going to be a pun. It was either going to be “A Purrfect Day” or this. I tried to resist the urge, but the power of cat puns is too much!
Feline Good
c!Grian x Cat Hybrid!Reader (platonic, but could be read as having a crush)
Summary: Your best friend always knows just how to make you laugh, but he’s never heard you purr before.
Warnings: None! It’s just fluff!
Note: I actually recently joined an Origins server and chose the feline origin, so this was well-timed!
“Hey! Hey, Y/N!” You jumped, ears twitching as you looked around frantically for the source of your friend’s voice.
Glancing up, you only had a moment before your vision was filled with feathers. You let out a yowl as Grian crashed into you, sending both of you onto the ground.
You lay still for a moment, catching your breath. Grian rolled off of you, flopping dramatically onto his back with an exaggerated sigh. You began to giggle at his antics.
Grian looked over at you. “Note to self: Y/N is not the ideal perch. They will just collapse.”
You just laughed harder. Your friend grinned at you before joining in. His laugh was much louder than your own, as your giggles turned more into a rumble in your chest.
Your purr, while quiet, was at a much lower pitch than Grian’s laughter and was just as audible.
Grian sat up as he looked at you, cocking his head to the side. “Did you just… purr?”
The sound cut off as you inhaled sharply. “No!”
Your answer was just a bit too quick, and a bit too defensive.
A grin split across Grian’s face. “You did! Aww, the kitty cat purrs!” You let out a grumble of protest. “You don’t need to be embarrassed! I think it’s adorable!” You screeched, burying your face into your hands.
“You’re just like Jellie!” At Grian’s continued teasing, you peeked through your fingers at him. Your friend had fallen backwards and was laughing hysterically.
Despite the burning in your cheeks, you dropped your hands and reached forward to hit Grian. He squawked, not expecting the blow.
“Do you see me making fun of you for your birdbrain?” You gave a half-hearted glare, folding your arms in a pout and twisting so you were facing away from your friend.
When Grian came back to a sitting position, he looked down. “I suppose not.” You turned back to him, catching a mischievous glint in his eyes as he looked up at you.
“Don’t you dare-!” You were cut off as Grian launched himself at you, fingers outstretched in an attack. You raised your arms to fend him off, but Grian knew you too well and ducked underneath, tickling you mercilessly.
You began to giggle uncontrollably, and soon Grian’s true intentions became apparent as you began to purr again. Once you reached this stage of laughter, Grian ceased his attack and leaned back with a satisfied smile.
When you finally caught your breath, you asked your friend “So what brought you flying in so fast?”
“Well, I saw that Tango had finished his new game! I know you’d be excited to play when it was done, so I came straight over here to tell you!”
You jumped up. “Why didn’t you say so already? Let’s go!” Before Grian could respond, you began to bound across the field, turning halfway across to watch your friend take to the skies. He quickly overtook you, looping back to remain close to your pace as the two of you travelled across the landscape.
Grian and Reader being scared of a random bug in the house and fighting over who has to get rid of the bug. I’m thinking of it being like a couple arguing over something stupid but if you want it to be platonic it can be :P
(Grian x Reader Romantic?)
Love your works!
Oh void, I laughed out loud when I first read this. Thank you for the request! Sorry things have been a bit slow, I recently joined a Minecraft server and I kind of hyper-focused on that.
Not It!
c!Grian x gn!Reader (romantic)
Summary: When a bug gets in the house, neither you nor Grian wants to be the one to deal with it.
Warnings: Caps lock (one word), a bug, mentions of arson
“GRIAN!” Your terrified shriek echoed throughout the house, quickly followed by the pounding of footsteps.
Your partner slid around the corner on the hardwood flooring, spreading his arms and wings to balance. His eyes were wide as he took in the sight before him.
You were perched on the kitchen counter, holding onto the shelves to stay off the ground. Grian’s gaze shifted from you to what you were looking at, and he jumped.
On the ground was a large black beetle. It was just sitting there, antennae waving, but it had both of you climbing onto the counters to avoid any possibility of touching it.
Grian looked across the room at you, eyes wide. “How did it get in?” He stage-whispered, as if the beetle could understand the two of you.
“I don’t know! Get rid of it!” You flapped your hand in the air between him and the bug, gesturing towards the door.
You caught a quick look of panic before Grian smoothed down his feathers, putting on an air of nonchalance. “It’s not that bad, it’s just a beetle. You can deal with it.”
His casual facade was undermined by the fact that he was still holding onto the kitchen counter to stay off the floor.
You looked at the beetle. It scuttled across the floor, and you shuddered as you watched its movement. “If it’s not that bad, why don’t you get rid of it?”
“Because… I can’t. It goes against my beliefs.” Grian’s voice was weak; he was clearly making it up as he went along.
“Sure.” You looked down at the beetle again, shifting further up onto the counter. “Aren’t birds supposed to eat bugs or something? You can take care of it!”
Grian glanced at you with a slight glare. “I’m not entirely a bird! And I dealt with the last animals that got inside the house, you get this one!”
He had a point. He’d taken care of the chicken infestation from when Mumbo had returned a prank.
Sighing in resignation, you looked back to where the object of your argument sat. The beetle wasn’t there. You looked at Grian in terror. “We’re burning the house down.”
He was staring at you with wide eyes. At your words, he nodded. “I’ll get the lighter.”
Could you do a Grian x Reader (Romantic if that’s alright) working together in Last Life and Grian being overprotective of the Reader? Sorry if this is hard to understand :P
Hello anon! Thanks for the request! The story was initially going to be a lot lighter but I may have accidentally made this yandere-ish. Not my initial intention, but if it works…
I’ve Always Got You
LL!Grian x gn!Reader (romantic)
Summary: Your partner is a tad overprotective when you join the Last Life server. Sometimes it’s warranted, but most of the time it’s just overbearing.
Warnings: Lack of communication between characters, shouting (but not caps), death, overprotective/overbearing behaviour, body horror (just in case).
Note: This is not the way you should deal with an overprotective partner in real life! Communicate with them, don’t bottle it up and explode!
When your partner announced he was starting the Last Life server, you were excited to join. You had just been a spectator for Third Life, and fell in love with the chaos and excitement of the games, and insisted to Grian that he let you participate in the new season.
When the number of lives was revealed, you and Grian both ended up with two lives. Grian was a bit more protective of you here than he’d ever been on Hermitcraft. At first it was kind of cute, but after a couple of sessions it was more annoying than anything.
This came to a head when Mumbo, still on his yellow life, tried to bring you some sugarcane that you’d requested. Grian practically drove him off, starting out passive aggressive but gradually dropping more obvious hints. After your friend left, you confronted your partner.
“Grian, it was just Mumbo!” By this point, you were beyond exasperated with your partner’s antics. “You need to calm down!”
Grian ran a hand through his hair in frustration. “I know that it’s Mumbo, but we’re in a literal death game, if you’ve forgotten!” By this point he was nearly shouting. “He could have been the bogeyman! We can’t trust anybody!”
“Then why are you so intent on sticking with me? Since we started this stupid game you’ve done nothing but try to hide me away from the others!”
“Because I love you, and I want you to be safe! I want to always be there for you!” Grian sounded almost pleading as he tried to reveal his thoughts.
You hung your head. “And you have been. I don’t always need you there, though.”
Grian was speechless for a moment. “I know that, I just-”
You couldn’t take this argument anymore. “Just leave me alone!” You stormed off, barely able to see through the tears that welled up. You could hear Grian calling behind you but you ignored him. Muttering under your breath, you ducked into the forest, pushing branches out of your face to progress.
You marched through the dense woods for several minutes, trying to put as much distance between yourself and Grian as you could. Eventually you came to a clearing, where you stopped to breathe. Wiping the tears from your eyes, you sank to the ground.
You only had a few moments of reprieve, however, as you heard someone crashing through the bushes behind you. As you jumped to your feet, you spun toward the source of the sound. “Who’s there?”
“Y/N!” Grian’s voice sounded panicked. “Where are you?”
“I told you to go away!” The rustling of leaves stopped for a moment, before beginning again. A beat passed as that’s all you heard until Grian crashed into the clearing. His eyes lit up as they found your frame, and he opened his mouth to speak.
Before he could, you growled at him. “What part of ‘leave me alone’ don’t you understand?” Whipping around, you stalked into the treeline. At least, you did for a few metres.
When you expected your foot to come down on the forest floor it went straight through the foliage. With the momentum you had going and the lack of attention you were paying, your other foot followed.
Your thoughts were abruptly cleared as you realised you were falling. Your grumbling turned into a gasp for air.
The pit you had fallen into was long, and looking down you saw a very obviously player-placed piece of dripstone.
Just before you hit, you heard a cry from above: “Y/N!” A flash of green and yellow appeared before your eyes and you were filled with a rush of energy. And then the impact came.
<Y/N was impaled on a stalagmite.>
You respawned back in your base, laying on your bed motionless. You blinked to clear your head, then sat up and turned on your communicator.
<Smajor1995: What happened?>
<Rendog: Boogey kill?>
<Grian: I think so, it seems like an intentional trap.>
<SmallishBeans: I’m cured!>
<LDShadowlady: Umm… Grian’s red?!>
<TangoTek: Grian what happened?>
<Rendog: You good G?>
<Grian: A sacrifice was made.>
You shook your head. Grian was so dramatic sometimes. You lifted yourself to your feet, debating whether it was worth it to go get your items. Eventually you came to the conclusion that you would probably want your things back, so you made your way out into the centre of the Southlands.
As you walked out to the gate, you noticed the other Southlanders giving you concerned looks. A couple of them started to walk toward you, but stopped when you walked past. You ignored them, hoping that you’d be able to retrieve your items before they despawned.
The path to the location of your death was not long, and it was easy to follow the path of broken branches that Grian left.
When you stumbled into the clearing near the trap, you saw Grian kneeling next to a chest as he poured his inventory into it. You watched for a moment, taking in the sight of your partner.
His skin had lost its lively colour and was now a dry, dull grey. The name above his head was a vibrant blood red, as was his signature sweater. From what little you could see of his hands, the nails were long, dark, and jagged at the ends. When he stood, he exhaled deeply before turning his head slowly in your direction.
His eyes were dark red and his expression was cold. When he made eye contact with you, however, his face softened and his lips curved into a smile. “Oh, it’s just you. I thought you were someone coming to take your stuff.”
You returned his smile. “Thank you for getting it for me. But-” You cut yourself off and took a deep breath. “Why did you give me your life?”
Grian shrugged. “I panicked. I didn’t want to lose you, and I didn’t see another way out of that situation.”
“You could have let me go to red.” That would have been the obvious option, right?
“No, I couldn’t.” Your partner reached out a hand, taking both of your own in his. His skin was dry, chapped, and cold against your hands. When did he get so close?
“I’ve always got you, y/n. I won’t let you die first.”
Could you do a Grian x Reader where Grian is injured or sick and the Reader is taking care of him?
Hi anon! It was really fun to write some more hermit fluff, so thanks for the request!
Chicken Noodle Soup
c!Grian x Winged!Reader (romantic)
Summary: When your partner doesn’t show up for a prank, you know something is wrong. You take care of Grian when you find him bedridden.
Warnings: Sickness (not descriptive, no vomiting), food/eating.
Note: Gender neutral reader (no pronouns used).
Your wings buzzed with excitement as you waited. Your partner Grian had told you to meet him near Mumbo’s megabase for an amazing prank.
The two of you were the terror of Boatem. Ever since you joined together in season 6, you’d been forces of chaos. The adventures of Poultry Man and his unnamed accomplice were legends among the hermits.
Now, you waited for Grian near the Boatem Pole, scanning the skies for his brightly-coloured wings. He said that he’d meet you about twenty minutes ago, and while it wasn’t unusual for him to be late you were getting impatient. Pulling out your communicator, you sent your partner a quick message.
<Y/N: Hey Pesky Bird! Where are you?>
You decided you’d give him a few minutes for a response, hopping between the boulders and bushes that Pearl had installed as decoration while you waited. When your comms didn’t buzz with an answer, you frowned. Grian normally would have gotten back to you by now.
Opening the general chat, you shot a question out to the other hermits.
<Y/N: Has anyone seen Grian lately? He’s not answering his comms.>
<DocM77: No, sorry!>
<GeminiTay: I haven’t been near Boatem lately, but I can tell you he’s not near the Swamp Lump!>
<GoodTimesWithScar: Not recently, let me know if you want help to look for him!>
<XisumaVoid: Do you need me to look for his coords in the coding?>
<Y/N: I don’t think so. I’ll check around on my own. If anyone sees him, ping me.>
Now you were concerned. If no one else had seen him, something must be wrong. Or he was just pranking you. You hoped it was the latter.
You shoved your comms away, shooting into the air with a rocket. Leveling out around cloud height, you scanned the ground carefully to make sure you didn’t miss him. You swooped around the artificial mountains created around Boatem, weaving in and out between the peaks. Your mind was flooded with options as to where Grian might be.
Eventually you thought to look in his base. You landed in front of his stone and copper build as you mentally facepalmed. Why didn’t you think to look here first?
You tapped on the door, calling out to Grian as you pushed it open. “Pesky Bird?”
A groan sounded from inside the building. Stepping inside, you noticed that the lights were all off and the windows were covered. “Love?”
You grabbed a torch from the wall and lit it, carrying it as you found your way to the stairs. You navigated around the hole leading to Grian’s sheep farm and up to the second floor, where his bedroom was located.
As you approached, you saw a bundle of blankets curled up on Grian’s bed. His wings sprouted from a break in the sheets.
“Oh, love.” You walked over and perched on the edge of the bed. After placing the torch in a bracket on the wall, you rubbed your hand across his back. “How are you feeling?”
A face peeked out from the pile of blankets. “Not great.” You let out a small chuckle.
“I can see that.” Leaning down, you gave Grian a peck on the cheek. “I’ll be back in a moment.” He grumbled and hid his face in the covers again. Standing, you jumped over the balcony, a quick flap of your wings righting you in an instant.
Searching through the chests in the middle of the room, you sighed. There was no rhyme or reason to Grian’s organization. It took several minutes to find the materials you needed. You took them over to the crafting table along the wall, placing them in the proper positions to make a new item.
You walked up the stairs carefully, doing your best to not spill. Once you were back next to Grian, you set the bowl on his bedside table. “Hey birdie.”
Your partner wriggled under the blankets for a moment before coming to a sitting position. Upon seeing the bowl of broth, he let out a questioning chirp.
“I made soup! Scar told me once that when he was sick, his mom would always make chicken noodle soup, so I thought it was worth a shot.” You raised a spoon. “Open.”
Grian let out a laugh, but did as you requested. After he swallowed, he smiled. “I love you, y/n.”
You grinned back at him. “I know.” He smacked you with a wing. Laughing, you continued. “And I love you too.”
“Good.” He wrapped his wing around you, snuggling into your side. You wove an arm around him in return, giving a quick hug before returning it to your own side.
“Finish the soup, and then we can cuddle.” Grian let out a chirp of protest and you laughed. He fixed you with his best baby-bird eyes, and it took all you had to hold out. “No. No. You can't get me with the eyes.”
Your partner sulked. “Fine.” He reached out for the bowl, taking it from you. You were about to tell him to be careful when he lifted the bowl to his mouth and chugged the soup. Setting the bowl down, he smiled. “Now we can cuddle.”
You sighed. “I did promise.” You reached your arm around Grian again, wrapping him into a hug before pulling him down to a lying-down position. You lay one of your wings atop the two of you like a blanket. “Love you.”
Grian leaned forward to give you a quick kiss on the lips. “Mhmm.” You smacked him with your wing. He laughed. “I love you too, y/n.”
