im thinking about how awesamdude wished that he had the coordinates to where tommy was exiled saved somewhere bc it took so long to find him when he went to give him that pie, but he gave him what he needed to, surely it's fine (dream commissioned him for the prison later, he must've explained to him what he had overheard that day and he believed it.) and then dream told him he had to focus on the prison and probably wouldnt have time to check in on tommy to complete the project before the deadline. he did that on purpose. can anyone hear me
[clip] Foolish: “Uhhhh… No, that’s—that’s news to me. Sam, is that true?”
Sam: “Um…”
Dream: “Yeah Sam, is that true?”
Sam: “Ummm… Well, it wasn’t—it wasn’t exactly like that I don’t think…”
*Dream pulls out axe*
Sam: “Uhh…”
Foolish: “Sam, how did it go?”
Sam: “No, no, that’s what happened.”
*Dream switches back to holding steak”
Sam: “It is—it is. That’s—that’s what happened. It—it happened like that. It was—yeah—yeah, it’s… Yeah, that happened.”
Was watching this scene again and I gotta say I just love how in the corner of Foolish’s eye we just see Dream switch to his axe when Sam denies what happened in the prison. Like he doesn’t say anything or even move just pulls out his axe in a not so veiled threat… and oof it really goes to show how afraid Sam was of Dream but also how much denial he’s in that he was about to brush it off, in front of Dream, like it didn’t happen like that and wasn’t that bad. Is it really any surprise that Dream talks about the torture with such nonchalance when Sam probably beat that attitude into him. How many times did he try to use his words to get the warden to acknowledge it.
[28:54] Dream: “You—You said: ‘Yeah, that was regrettable.’ Like, you just, like, spilled your—soup or something… Yeah, I was tortured! For months! That’s not something you just, like, ‘Yeah, I mean, I kinda regret it.’ No. Look, you can own it, Sam. You’re an evil dude. You’re an evil guy. You do evil things.”
How many times did he not have an axe to pull out and force Sam to be truthful…
Ya know now that I think about it I don’t think we ever see Dream eat in a torture visit except the one with Techno… but as I mentioned in the last post [here] for Dream to be on half a heart when Sam finds him, he has to have been on 7 hearts when Quackity enters the cell and not have healed. So my assumption then is that because in that scene he was frantically running around the cell from Quackity, that his hunger was getting too low to sprint and stuff so that’s why he ate. It didn’t actually heal him, otherwise it’d be impossible for him to be so low when Sam arrives.
Anyways, I’ve mentioned it before [post] that I do wonder if Quackity somehow knows Dream’s health since again, he doesn’t accidentally kill Dream and now it’s even more suspicious since in that scene Dream should have had more health than he apparently did… and then I was thinking about the scene where Quackity gets him to write the note.
[clip] Quackity: “I’m swinging this thing around you and one hit and you’re done.”
Here Quackity threatens to kill Dream with one hit, which has always been odd to me because I know one hit from a netherite axe isn’t guaranteed to be fatal. In fact, if we look back at the damage analysis I did [post] than we know the maximum damage it can do is 9.5/10 hearts if the axe has Sharpness V and it’s a crit. Which technically could be fatal here since Quackity punches Dream after Dream tries to take the weapon off the wall, except when I compared the weapons on the dsmp map to streams to determine the most likely torture tools [post] I found that the axe used here with the low durability is most likely this axe in Quackity’s ender chest:
Which matches the low durability of the one in Quackity’s inventory during both the letter and Techno torture scenes:
It however, does not have Sharpness V so only does a maximum of 7.5 hearts of damage with a crit, which would not kill Dream if he were at full health or even at 9.5 after not healing from the punch. So, why did Quackity emphasize that he could kill Dream in one hit if he couldn’t. I mean it’s not like Dream could evade a second hit so why say one, unless maybe Dream once again wasn’t at full health.
Like in order for Dream to have been killed with one hit and Quackity’s threat be valid, Dream would need to be at 7.5 hearts after being punched, meaning he starts the session with 8 hearts. In order for that to be true he does still have to be able to survive Quackity hitting him with a diamond sword twice. Well a diamond sword does 3.5 hearts as a non crit, which means Quackity did 7 hearts of damage, theoretically leaving Dream once again on half a heart. So technically it is possible.
And this would support both my suspicion that Quackity could see Dream’s health and that Dream didn’t start sessions with full health. Presumably, then cc!Dream screen shared on discord so cc!Quackity would not accidentally kill him. As for c!Quackity perhaps we can just reason that he became so familiar with torturing that he knew how much damage each tool does and keeps track so he doesn’t accidentally kill Dream.
As for Dream, the evidence suggests that he didn’t start the visits at full health and we don’t see him heal during, now whether it is cc or c intentional is unclear, but I do think we could theorize that perhaps it could be a strategy of c!Dream’s to prevent Quackity from hitting him more. If Dream had healed, or if Dream had full health it would have just enabled Quackity to continue, so maybe that’s exactly why he didn’t…
And oh what a picture that paints. Of Dream only eating potatoes to keep from starving and neglecting his injuries and health on purpose, hoping maybe that if he’s too injured before Quackity even enters than he’ll go easier on him and if he doesn’t try and heal himself mid visit than Quackity will leave sooner. I mean to be fair Techno only gets hit 55 times because he’s chowing down baked potatoes to heal, otherwise he’d be dead already. So by not doing so, Dream actually avoids being hit as much even when the attention turns back to just him after Techno disappears. No wonder he has so many potatoes stocked up, he purposely isn’t eating them. Not solely because he wants to ration just incase Sam stops giving him food entirely again, but also because he’s eating the bare minimum to keep his health lower… and it makes me wonder if Sam or Quackity ever tried to force feed him and make him heal instead of potions. Or what Techno’s reaction would be when he noticed…
What if c!Dream actually made the cake for himself to celebrate his freedom, but then after all that work couldn’t stomach it, so he gives it to c!Sam. Oh how he must have felt watching c!Sam - the reason he can’t eat the cake or stomach more than a few bites of anything without throwing up - enjoy his cake…
I don't care how unrealistic it is I like to think that c!Sam would go into c!dreams cell and just talk to him during the early days of dream being locked up !!
