[PM]: Yes. She was fae, I'm aware of their tendency towards ridiculously over the top shennanigans but this seems excessively untoward even by fae standards. Kidnapping people and holding them hostage to profit off their work? She was an exceptional artist I saw it myself surely she'd have no need to do something like that, right?
[pm] She was a brilliant artist. She restored a painting for me. I do not - she - she told me things but it was in confidence. She is was is a good person. I would trust her with my life.
@arthur-gustin
Arthur bends down to pick up the dropped bobby pin, then hands it back to her as he looks at the closed door. “What kind of stuff?” he asks, eyebrows raised. Several things come to mind when he thinks about ‘fun’ things that could be stored in there; he asks about the most pressing. “Do you think there are new paintbrushes in there? There aren’t any left in the art room and I’ve been using my fingers with the watercolor paints.”
Stella gives him a quiet “Thanks” when he hands her the bobby pin. Her face falters as she tries to keep back a laugh- she and Arthur were thinking of pretty different things. “Well, maybe there’s art supplies in here. Or maybe there’s other kinds of stuff- only one way to find out, really.” Stella shoves the bobby pin back into the lock, continuing to work on it.
[ On Christmas day two objects arrive at Evelyn’s home. The first is an antique restored walnut Kaps grand piano with carefully inlaid gold filigree into the wood below the music stand of the symbol aegishjalmur a rune of protection roughly five inches across side to side. The second is an antique music box made of a similar wood. ]
Dearest Evelyn,
I put a great deal of time into what I should get you for the holidays. After all, in my opinion every item given should be delivered with the best of intentions behind its gifting. I do loathe a gift given without sentiment after all!
I fondly recall many of our discussions over the years. But some that have stuck with me are our talk of music and your passion for the piano. I do hope you haven’t got one of these already or it would be a terrible shame! Both of these have been in storage collecting dust and I thought that perhaps they should finally find a home where they will be able to bring joy once more to their owners.
The piano is an original, German in design and fashion and plays beautifully if I do say so myself. The music box is the first one I ever had the pleasure of purchasing after their invention, a great many years ago it was a gift that I passed on to my own daughter. She was an intelligent and beautiful young woman who always could make me smile even on the dullest day and filled me with pride with everything she did. In many ways you remind me a great deal of her and while she might not be here anymore you are and it feels only right I pass this on to you with all my best wishes and love. You are family after all. It might be simple but its beautiful as are you.
All my love,
Arthur

[PM]: I'm managing, a bit stiff from being laid up but getting there. Ah, that's good to hear... I was worried that something might happen. I didn't have my phone but I think Frey - Mercy that is, sent a message to check in.
[pm] Of course, that makes sense. I would be much the same. I am glad that you are safe and sound, now.
No, thankfully they spared me. Yes, she did message me. I had pizza sent over, and I hope it was to your satisfaction. Nothing on the semi-terrible pizza I tried to get you to have back in Cambridge, but still. Something, at least.

[PM]: Injured? She said her windows had been shattered because of whatever went down on Harris island - speaking of, you're okay right? Not hurt? But no, she just stopped answering me and she's normally rather prompt about almost everything she does so it seemed strange. I know you're her friend as well so thought I'd ask.
[pm] Yes, because of this. I am fine. My windows are broken but I may stay with someone. Not Alain. Someone else.
She is rather prompt and I am concerned. Yes, she is someone I trust very much and care for a great deal. Also we slept together but I feel like that is not really proper to mention right now When did you last talk to her?
[PM]: Hey, you haven't heard from Lydia have you? She stopped answering me.
[pm] We were talking yesterday and I am concerned she was injured then and I am even more concerned now. She is not replying?

Left on Evelyn’s doorstep along with a card written in neat cursive that reads as follows:
Eve, I know things are tough right now and you’re going through a lot. What I told you the other day still counts. I’ll always be here for you when you need me, but, until then have these to hopefully help tide you by.
Who knew monks on this island off the coast of Cannes produce wine this good? This Syrah has warm blackberry and cassis flavours with a lovely spice - I’ve found it goes well with almost any food (but nothing beats red wine and chocolate).
Included, wrapped in a leather protective binding clearly well-cared for is a first print edition of the Odyssey by Homer in Ancient Greek.
A large box of Jakobsen luxury danish chocolates.
A bottle of Abbaye De Lerins Saint Honorat Syrah.
