Superchief Gallery LA is proud to present New York and Rome based artist C. Finley.

This will be the debut of The Divine Distractions, her first Los Angeles solo exhibition featuring large-scale paintings as talismans for beauty, joy and rapture.

Superchief Gallery will be hosting the opening reception on March 21, 2015 at 7pm, followed by a month-long residency where the artist will host live performances in the gallery.

In addition to the show, C. Finley will take to the streets of downtown LA with her internationally acclaimed Wallpaper Dumpster Project to create an urban intervention by transforming environmental activism into unexpected beauty.

“C. Finley’s Pietà and Ecstasy of St. Theresa gave me a sense of relief about the future of contemporary art coupled with awe, replacing my too often feeling of contempt” - Says Artist Penny Arcade. She continues, “Finley’s personal vocabulary of color, her geometric landscapes, and her use of light reflect the enduring quality of art to transform the way we see and isn’t that ultimately what art is about?”

Superchief Gallery is very proud to present The Divine Distractions- a solo show by C. Finley, running from March 21st - April 4th.

The entire warehouse gallery will be taken over by her large scale, vibrant and beautiful psychedelic images of women in classic, divine poses. Paintings that are 12ft tall and one that is 48 feet wide, we’ve never shared something on this scale, you’d be foolish to miss this installation.

Finley will be in residency all month long, hosting a series of cultural events at the gallery throughout the run of the exhibition. This will also mark the return and the 6th year of her Wallpapered Dumpster Project, after doing it in 14 countries and having the project covered by the NYTimes- she is finally bringing it back to the city where it all began, Los Angeles.
