"life's like a movie, write your own ending."
-my birthday presents to @crimsxnlxve
Lana strode the sidewalk near campus like she was out walking the dogs, two sets of broad shoulders flanking her in idle chatter. They kept saying things -- talking about the score of the latest game, a protein powder switch, how “fuckin’ sick” the new Tesla would be to drive on autopilot while “a chick” gave you head -- and Lana didn’t care about any of it, but she smiled like she did, every so often. She’d just stooped fast enough to snare a buttercup, likes of which she was twirling beneath her chin, imagining the sunny reflection, when she spotted Len a little in the distance. Adding a hop and a skip to her step, she slowed once she reached her. “Hey,” she breezed, lifting what had been declared as a weed (unjustly, in Lana’s opinion) beneath her friend’s face. The skin emanated a glow. Confirmed: Len Covello likes butter. “Wanna come to the diner, get something to eat?” Wafting a hand back, Lana didn’t bother to introduce her company, still a short walk behind her where she’d left them. They were closing in, though, two ghosts intent on gobbling her up like Pacman. “They’re paying.” @lencovello
A founders gala. Darius was surprised when the others on the island got an invite, they were on the island for a reason after all. But when he got one it had been downright shocking. Hybrids were freaks on the island, and to be invited here was unheard of. But he was here, downing another drink trying to stay out of the way. Darius had gotten enough looks from people that he’d decided being away from the crowd was the best choice from him.
His eyes were instantly drawn to Len. Again. He’d been trying to not pay attention to him but as always that wasn’t working very well. He’d not been able to stop finding him, stop staring, they were on speaking terms he supposed, but he struggled talking to him last time. What didn’t make sense to him was why Len wasn’t out enjoying himself. Dancing was something he loved and there was plenty of that here.
Staring at his empty glass he sat it down, two drink was enough to make him think talking to his ex boyfriend who he definitely wasn’t still in love with was a good idea. Clearing his throat he found himself temporarily at a loss for words. “You look nice.” That wasn’t what he was supposed to say. @talkngdust
She was sure he was one of them, she always remembered their faces even if she didn’t get to stay long. “How have you been?” she stepped closer to him than necessary, looking over his face, searching for any imperfections, as if there would be any of them. “You’ve been alone for too long. I can never forgive myself for that.” @talkngdust
Sloshing a helping of whatever was closest into a miniature shot glass, plastic and throwaway, Lana tipped it back in one. Her grimaced reaction, however, wasn’t due to a potent flavour, but a sore lack of one. “What’s--... Ew, what’s-.... This is apple juice,” she stuttered in disbelief, the picture of shock. The world may as well have been ringing in her ears, as she stumbled around blind. Reaching a hand out to catch onto Len’s elbow, as she passed, she summoned for back-up in her time of crisis. “Some guy just gave me a shot of apple juice. I’m so upset. Practically, like, manhandled into a diaper. It’s the first grade, all over again.” At his interjection, an attempt to explain that he had, in fact, offered it to her as chaser, Lana threw him a look. “Please, Bartholomew? You’ve done enough?” Ignoring that he hadn’t given her a name to begin with, she turned back to Len. “Got anything stronger? Wanna burn my taste-buds, a little. Feeling super sadistic.” @lencovello
closed starter for @crimsxnlxve (for len)
where: a local carnival
milo knew that his boyfriend, len, loved carnivals, so he'd invited him out for a date to the local one. it was a bit late in the season for one, but all that did was make milo bundle up, hardly a deterrent. he was waiting for his boyfriend to get off work and meet him, so he figured he'd kill some time by playing some carnie games. he even managed to win something he thought len would like, much to his delight.
he's waiting at a booth near the entrance when he finally spots len approaching, smile lighting up his face when he spots his partner. he crosses the short distance between them and gives len a quick peck on the lips, before pulling back. "hey, you made it! i got something for you while i was waiting." he pulls a kermit the frog plush out from behind his back, holding the plush in front of his face and using it's arm to give a small wave. "hi-ho!"
milo peeks out from behind it and gives a sheepish smile. "sorry, that was probably a horrible kermit impression. but i won him for you! i, uh,” he rubs the back of his neck, cheeks pink. “i know you like these little guys. plus he kinda reminded me of you. not in the frog way. in the… cute way. you know what? i’ll shut up now.”
@coldestthief sent: He's leaning against the wall by the door, arms folded, watching unabashedly. "Those weapons aren't the only things hidden under those tight clothes." - For Sara
Your muse catches mine in the shower. What is your muse's reaction?
The blue eyes blinked water out of them as she turned to the sound of the familiar voice, just audible past the running water echoing in the shower. Admittedly there was a severe lack of curtain, only using a clear liner to prevent water from pooling on the floor. “As if you’re actually surprised.” She knew he was more than observant, he could tell what was underneath her clothes for the most part, advertised or not.
“Well, are you going to simply admire, or are you going to join in? You’re letting in the cold, and before you say anything, you left the door wide open for it,” she smirked, knowing it was a terrible pun but he really had asked for it.
