Ariel knew exactly why her and Naveen were being paired up for their senior year duet project. The two had powerful voices separately but together it was some kind of wonderful. She was glad that they could freely explore any musical genre without the fear of any significant others starting any drama. It was weird that for the first time in a long time they were both single. Ariel liked it better this way since Nav had a type... CRAZY and they all hated Ariel. It’s not like she chose much better Manipulative assholes was her apparent cup of team But now they were happy and single and free to be their best selves the bromigos that they were. They had agreed to meet in her dorm since she had her keyboard and guitar so when she heard a knock she swung the door open excitedly. “Hey. Perfect timing.”

“Uh hey dude how’s it going?” Gavin asked as he bounced the newly found baby in his arms. Someone had left this child on his doorstep two weeks ago with a note saying you’re the father. To say Gavin was stressing would be an understatement so when Naveen offered to come help him he was relieved.

“Dope tunes at Pride.” Athena grinned as she slid into a booth with Naveen. It had been a hot minute since the two had hung out and Athena missed him. They used to be quite close and Athena was doing her best to make sure she didn’t get into her hermit tendencies again. “I’m very impressed. If I was having a part you’d be hired.”

“I uh-” Scout was the idiot of all idiots and he realized that now. “Shit I’m sorry man. I wasn’t trying to lie to everyone I moved out of New York tried to be a new person and I guess it all got carried away and shit.”

“I know we don’t always get along Maldette but the fact of the matter is you’re the best and I willl settle for nothing less.” Madelyn explained. “I’ll even pay you for helping me, but I need to get this song finished by my birthday and before you say no just let me sing the first line hmm?” She looked to him and playing the piano she started to sing. “Feelings, so deep in my feelings No, this ain't really like me, can't control my anxiety. Feeling, like I'm touching the ceiling. When I'm with you I can't breathe. Boy, you do something to me”

“Nav I need your help.” Gavin admitted as he sat on a couch in the man’s apartment. He had so many things racing on inside of his head and he figured the other man was pretty good at this stuff he could help him. “So I might have kind of agreed to a date with this mom from Emma’s school mostly because Mickey wouldn’t get off my back about putting myself out there. So now I have to plan this date and I have no idea what to do.”

Ariel had quickly changed back into her sweatpants and signature yellow hood straight after the party. Makeup washed off and her hair back in the messy bun. She hadn’t really wanted to go to that party which was pretty out of character for the normal party animal Ariel. In fact she hadn’t been up for much lately. Sitting curled up on her bed she was feeling pretty weird just like she had been almost the whole night. Biting her lip she figured she probably had to say something. “Hey uh babe” Ariel said softly. “I think uhm” She started softly. “I think that maybe I’m not doing as good as I thought I was. I think the holidays were just harder than I thought they’d be, and I think I’m just kinda sad.” Ariel admitted for the first time out loud. She looked over to him nervously. “I’m sorry I don’t mean to be a bum out first thing in the year.”

“Hey man, Long time no talk.” Athena chuckled. “How ya been?” She asked. Naveen absolutely got under Athena’s skin but she did genuinely miss the other man and his friendship.
