Wendy let out another little laugh, shaking her head. “You’re probably right. Wow! I cannot believe it!” She may have been slightly in shock, but she quickly nodded her head at the mention of celebrating. “Yes! Yes, we should get out of here and celebrate. I think if I look at my computer one moment longer I will be sick,” she laughed. “Celebratory milkshakes?”

“Oooh now you’re out here speaking my language.” Ariel grinned brightly. “I do love me some milkshakes. Anything to do with ice cream really is my thing.” The redhead bubbled excitedly. “I think we need to go right now and obviously they’re on me because we are totes mcgotes celebrating you my dear.” Ariel was just too happy and proud of Wendy, she worked so hard and she was so kind and sweet she deserved all the success in the world.

Eric couldn’t help the large, grateful smile that burst across his features when Ariel had told him that she was proud. He was not happy that he could make someone from Florida feel that way towards him but also that they were able to build a great friendship after everything. “Perfect! Let’s go!” He exclaimed with a chuckle as he motioned for her to follow him to one of the restaurants he had found doing his series for the paper that in his opinion had the best cheese fries he had ever had. “So what’s been going on with you?” He asked.

“With me? Not a lot just finished up my internship so that’s pretty insane now I am enjoying a few weeks/months of freedom before I have to go and find a real job and you know be an adult.” Ariel explained with a laugh. She was almost like those storybook characters never truly wanting to grow up or lose her sense of adventure. “It’s crazy how time flies these days.”

Wendy let out a shocked little laugh, but couldn’t help the smile that crossed her face as realization hit of what she just did. “I did it!” she repeated excitedly. This had been something she had been working towards for years, and she finally did it. She sent her book out to a publisher. Wendy returned Ariel’s hug, happy that her friend was here to encourage her to actually do it. “Thank you! Oh my goodness. I feel a bit sick but I don’t know if it’s from excitement or nerves,” she laughed. 

“Ooh sweetie it’s probably a little of both but I am just so proud of you!” Ariel beamed with pride as she looked over to Wendy. She was actually doing it, she was actually getting her work put out there and going for her dreams. Ariel couldn’t be more happy for her friend. “I think we need to celebrate now.”

“I can’t take allll the credit,” Nav drawled out, resting his head on Ariel’s shoulder. “I honestly felt as if we went to Westminster Abbey to see another British royal get married. That’s how amazin’ it was,” He chuckled. “Both Mads and Apollo were visions, truly,” He smiled. “Yeh, I had a lot of fun. Did you? By the way, I definitely have the Savage dance you and Apollo did.” 

“It was definitely magical, and royal, and beautiful.” Ariel spoke in a dreamy tone with stars in her eyes. The wedding had been everything she had been dreaming about and more. The Speros-Gothel’s were a beautiful couple and it had all been fantastic. “I did! You know I love a good reception getting down on the dance floor and all that.” Ariel laughed. Her face turned red at the next statement her face buried in her hands. “Oh no you didn’t.”

Wendy was a little shocked by how firm Ariel was being, as she guided Wendy back into her chair. But she also knew that Ariel was doing it because she cared and believed in Wendy, and knew her well enough to hold her accountable. Taking another deep breath, she gave her friend another small smile. “Okay. Okay. You’re right. I just need to do it. What’s the worst thing that could happen right?” Well, Wendy’s brain was able to fill in all sorts of worst case scenarios, but she couldn’t let those things stop her. She took one more deep breath before quickly pressing the send button and then closing her email, her eyes big and round. “I did it. Oh my god, I did it!”

“Oh my god you did it!” Ariel exclaimed jumping up and down excitedly. She was so excited for Wendy. She knew that it could be scary to put yourself out there like that, but Wendy was incredible. Ariel believed in her more than anything and knew she was going to be just fine if not amazingly successful. “I’m so proud of you.” The redhead wrapped her friend in a very excited hug.

“Damn, we did it, our first wedding as wedding singers, I’m kinda shook,” Nav teased with a laugh. “D’you have fun, babe?”

“You did amazing and it was totally amazing to see the ceremony. Ugh Madelyn looked so beautiful and I was so happy for Apollo.” Ariel gushed as she thought about it all. “I had an amazing time. Did you?”

“Is that why you’re so bright and sunshiny?” Nav teased with an eyebrow wiggle. “I’m makin’ impossible burgers. I just wanted to get ‘em grilled up first before I throw the fries on and dad got me the special sauce to put on the burgers too, it’s gonna be great,” He smiled, nudging Ariel. He loved her curious spirit, and sure, it’s gotten her into trouble in the past–hell, even his own curiosity often landed him into trouble, which is why they worked so well. “I dig that idea. Oh, I also bought ice cream too. The special kind too,” He nodded with a proud grin. 

“Ooooh my favorite.” Ariel wiggled happily before placing a kiss on Naveen’s cheek. She was already so spoiled by him how was she so lucky. “It smells amazing it’s going to taste amazing good god.” Ariel could already feel her mouth watering. “Remember that time I snuck a beyond patty in my purse and ordered a grilled cheese at In-N-Out?” She laughed recalling the time but honestly it had slapped. “Babe” Ariel nearly teared up as she reached out and took his hand squeezing it. “Why are you the best you’re gonna make me feel so bad my gift is gonna look so lame.” She pouted but not for too long because she was simply too excited to be upset at all.

Wendy took another deep breath, shaking out her hands, smiling at her friends words. She gave herself a firm nod before staring down at her computer screen again. “I got this,” she repeated. Once again her hands hovered over the keyboard. A few moments later she abruptly stood up. “Y’know, I think I need more tea, do you need anything?”

“Oh no. Not today shortcake. Sit down.” Ariel placed her hands on Wendy’s shoulders sitting her back down into the seat. “I am not letting you get out of this.” She was being unusually firm for her typical self but Ariel knew this if she wasn’t firm Wendy would find any and every way to avoid until it never happened.

Wendy looked up at the sound of Ariel’s voice, and gave her friend a small smile before giving her head the slightest shake, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “I just…” she took a deep breath, before continuing. “I can’t get myself to send my book out to these publishers. I’ve been staring at this email and I just… can’t do it.”

Ariel nodded. She knew it could be nerve wracking to send out your work especially when you don’t know what people would say. What if you staked everything on it and it flopped? But Wendy was talented and smart and she was going to be so successful Ariel knew it. “I know but I promise you got this.” Ariel nodded. “I am right here for you and you got this.”
