"What? Flirting with me when he knew I wasn't available? It seemed to me that he was more interested in you, babe," she giggled amusedly as they sat in the car again. She turned to him with a knowing smile, mischief on her lips. "He's my client, Will. I work with him, but if you're interested, I'll hook you up too."

That he was cute when jealousy tugged at him, she'd better not tell him, but she wanted to give him the reassurance he needed.

“You're my baby boy, you know that.” Playfully, she pressed her finger against his chin. “But...” With a hint of seduction, she put her lips to his ear. “...you can tell him that again yourself.”

Gwen hated that there was so much pressure around coming home. Her need to avoid any and all emotions is why she made sure Will was one of the first people she'd texted that she was back. With him, things had always been easy-going. He was like her goofy uncle that she could smoke pot and watch wacky, B movies with. As they sat there watching their latest movie victim to poke fun a , she took a deep drag of the joint before exhaling and passing it to Will, "Okay, but really- who do you think would win in a fight. Will wasn't one to normally frequent these types of establishments but he was bored and wanted to have some fun. So he sat in front of the stage, eyes glued to the women that came and went until one in particular caught his eye. He needed to have a moment alone with her.

He moved from his seat to find the manager to request a private showing with the woman. Once the money was handed over, he was led to a door on the other side of the room that led to a hallway lined with doors. He was taken to the far right one to wait for his private show.

Lemie was fresh out of the shower, rubbing lotion absentmindedly on her arms while going over X's baby announcement over and over again in her head. Never in a million years did she think the thought of babies would weigh so heavily on her mind. She and Will were now married, and with him being a bit older, it somehow felt urgent for them to have this discussion. It was well-known that they both wanted kids, but they hadn't actually had the 'let's get started' talk. The logistics weren't all planned out yet, and this wasn't something Lemie wanted to be impulsive and reckless about.

She walked back into their bedroom, hopping onto the bed and sitting facing Will. She stared at him for a few seconds, waiting for him to realize she was staring at him creepily. "Hi," she said awkwardly, trying to figure out a way to bring this up. "Did you see Van? At the wedding, I mean. It actually seems real now, like X is going to have a kid.”

A familiar reunion

It had only been two months since their last reunion, but the more Conláed had wished to see William again, the more it had seemed like an eternity. They had exchanged their loose summer clothes for cloaks when his father's carriage passed the city gate leading to the king's castle. William's invitation to join him at the winter solstice was finally honored.

When they had left the carriage and were admitted to the interior of the castle, Conláed was seized with a pleased, light feeling that accompanied him until they finally came face to face with the king. He was so happy to see him again that he imagined flinging his arms around his neck, but that really didn't boast of being a greeting, right? At least, the prince did so only in his mind as William approached them.

"We are honored to visit you in your kingdom, William," Conláed heard his father say, but he himself only had eyes for the king. The radiance in his face was certainly not to be missed.

A few weeks had passed since Cora's big move to Aurora, to the house her mother had shared with a man who most definitely wasn't her father. There were still so many unknowns, so many lies to uncover, but the one thing she was sure of was that she still had no fucking clue what to write. She kept pushing and pushing the deadline her publisher had given her and, so far, it had worked, but she wasn't sure how much longer they would allow it. Let's just say it was hard to write about love when the relationship that was at the root of her entire belief system was a lie. She had found receipts amongst the clutter in her new house signed by Gregory Meyers for a Bed and breakfast not too far from where she was and she decided to investigate. There were some kind of events happening, but it wasn't like she knew anyone in Aurora yet and her thoughts were pretty much consumed by her mother's secret life. She dragged her feet all the way to the cottage and ended up standing in front of a man who was tending the front desk. "Hi," she said, suddenly wishing she had practiced what to say before this very moment. She slid the receipt the man's way, her finger on the name at the very bottom. "I'm wondering if I could speak to this man. Gregory Meyers?"
