It did. It really did suck. If Darius hadn't been caught up in his own life she might have already gone back to drag him along in her newest conquest for vengeance - oh, that was right, she couldn't. Not until she found that mirror and certainly not until she could truly find out what had happened.
Though, she certainly had a hunch, her parents, when they were still alive, had manipulated and hurt a lot of people -- they made her hurt a lot of people and not everyone that was hurt would realize that she was innocent in all of it. Maybe this was all about her.
To Parker's questions about Wonderland, Darla had simply nodded. At this point, she was anxious and mentally exhausted - she was facing an inner turmoil that she had no choice but to face alone now that the only person who had helped her in the past was gone. For his next question though, she had signed back to him - No, my nanny, who was more a mother to me than my actual mother was.
She hadn't bothered telling him the whole story, but it had clearly annoyed her that she was being held back from doing what she had needed to do when he insisted, once again, that his business needed to be taken care of first. The more time I waste here, with you, the less time I have to find out the truth and get what is rightfully mine back. It was clear, however, that Parker was just as stubborn as she was.
Whatever it is you are looking for, can I help you to speed this along? I can fly, you know, give me a list, tell me where to find them and I'll go get them for you. It will probably be a hell of a lot faster.
