When: 16th of December, 1979 Where: Hogwarts grounds (outdoor, somewhere that could be on the way to Hogsmeade ok) Who: @dawnwitheyy
Since the day before, the nearness of the consequences to her choices had begun eating up at Camille’s insides with special hunger. It had been a sleepless night, and she’d had exams. Probably flunked them. Her mind was fixated on the idea, like a dream, of her reliving everything she’d lived at Cambridge, only now at Hogwarts. Her friends shunning her, mistreating her. Crushing her spirit. It wouldn’t happen, she knew, none of it. And did people even read The Oracle? But the fact was, whatever would happen was unequivocally coming, now that Doris had showed her a nearly finished version of the article. Details of her trauma. It felt so embarrassing. The embarrassment and sleep deprivation made her go through the late afternoon with an unwavering lightheadedness, and the necessity to kill time.
Roaming outdoors seemed like something decent to do. The views of the castle grounds always soothed her. It was near sundown, then, and it had been comfortable to be alone. But when she spotted Dawn going by a nearby path, probably making her way home, her heart lit up. Suddenly, being alone wasn’t comfortable anymore, it was a drag. Dawn would make things better. She always did.
“Dawn!” She called her out, faintly, as she walked up to her. “Hi.” She smiled over tired eyes. Dawn’s radiance didn’t wear them any further, though, they seemed to reinvigorate her, if only just a bit. “You’re, um... Going home?”
