"i overheard my mother saying that there's going to be another ball this weekend." she sat on the steps to the kitchen with them, hugging her knees to her chest as much as the billows of her gown allowed. "please tell me you'll be ready to sneak away with me. you know how boring i find those."

waiting for fern to meet him aiden pulled out his notes and his extra bag of octopus gummies. he felt a text going off and looked down to see his sister. something about her not being able to meet for dinner so he was on his own. he rolled his eyes and put his phone down, focusing on the project details. it was coming along really well and he enjoyed working with fern, she was interesting and fun. he smiled softly to himself. looking up he noticed the girl walking in and he stood up and waved. “hey! over here!”

The dead of winter always made Birdie a little gloomy with all the plant life asleep and the earth buried under layers of snow.  The recent rain had done a decent job of melting it away though, and the Morrigan found herself in Edden, sitting pressed against the wood of a tree and feeling the hardened earth beneath her. 

At least her other powers were unaffected by the changing of seasons - even if the air now was cold and icy.  In some ways it became easier to handle and certainly had more of an effect on other people.  Looking up to the sound of crunching footsteps, her gaze fell on a young girl who Birdie knew was one of theirs.  Quickly though, the witch grew the opinion that the other shouldn’t be out here in this weather.

“Are you okay dear?  You don’t look well.”
