Aster knocked at the entrance to the workshop, peeking her head in to find Henry. “So, I thought I’d try a new recipe for brownies and they are really good if I do say so myself!” Stepping in, she held a plastic container filled with brownies for him, somehow still warm from the oven. Her smile was even warmer for the mechanic who had become a friend as she hovered at the edge to see if he was free to chat.

Arden and Davie, 10 pm

He hadn’t bothered to respond to a text from his mom in at least a half an hour.

He hadn’t had the time, hadn’t had the spare hand, and instead, he had been spread thin, pulled to his wits end between trying to contain his little brother and trying to scatter the party that had taken over his home. So scattered he was, that Arden felt fang and claws erupt from his skin when there was a heavy knocking on the door.

Snarling, shoving the bumbling, hallucinating David into a closet, Arden began to stalk through the conglomeration of bodies that had gathered in the foyer, yanking the front door wide open. 

“Wha-Hephaestus.”

Relief colored his voice, caused his shoulders to sag, and Arden leaned against the doorway, scrubbing at his eyes with one fist as tears welled. 

“Fuck, did Mom send you?”

She had given him a name, and a face, a location to go to, and that was supposed to be enough.

Stepping into the establishment, the air was thick with smoke and the smell of something burning. Achilles took it in stride though, slow, careful steps into the establishment leading him through the front door and across the threshold. Hands behind his back, fingers tangled together, the Myrmidon took a swift sweep of the front room before his eyes fell to the empty counter.

“Hello?”

Of all things he hadn’t expected a text asking for his address, at three in the afternoon. He had slept in past an acceptable time, hadn’t bothered to go to work, and instead, he had stayed in his pajamas all day. Trudging to his door, Kalalu leaned against the frame, fiddling with the lock before twisting the knob.

“You know, Trainwreck, I didn’t expect you to need fashion advice this ear-” His eyes were red rimmed, and his nose was the same hue, and it gave Kalalu pause as he looked at the older man. Frowning, not liking what he saw, he reached out, taking one of Hephaestus’ hands to pull him inside the apartment. “Whats wrong?”

Small Talk || Hera & Hephaestus

Hera walked into Iron Arms, immediately hit with the smell of burning metal. She hardly every visited the place, mostly because she was hardly ever on this side of town, but mostly because she never really visited her other son. Though she figured with this whole conspiracy out, it would be good to speak with him. That and other things that she had heard buzzing around. It took her awhile to find his office, but she eventually found it. 

As she walked up to the door she knocked the door. She assumed he was probably drawing up plans or something related to that. She was also sure that she’d be interrupting him as he was never one to like being torn from his work. She figured if she didn’t talk to him now he’d never leave work. “It’s Veronica.” She said, being careful around all his employees as they were walking to and from their stations. It was always awkward when she saw her son, as they had always had a awkward relationship. She took out her phone as she waited outside his office, browsing through a few quick emails from her journalists.
