Logan isn’t afraid of not being taken seriously: he’s afraid Patton won’t take him seriously
So, we have Crofters: The Musical. In the whole video, Logan makes jelly puns, very comfortable. In the end card, when Virgil shows up (quick remembering that everyone was very very happy when they saw Virgil and that was very pure), he’s alright.
But then Patton shows up.
And Logan is immediately with a fear expression on his face. “Well, now all my efforts of being taken serious are fruitless”. Hmm, but Roman could be very mean to you and never take you seriously, and Thomas and Virgil could just be less impressed by you, but the problem is... Patton?
And there’s all this other videos, where Logan makes a pun (accidentally or not) in front of Patton and is immediately regretting it, afraid he will not be taken seriously and afraid Patton will think he’s childish. In the My NEGATIVE Thinking (the one with only Virg and Lo, and the one where Virgil hisses), he makes a joke, saying “what’s the matter, Anxiety, worried your silver tongue will land you in second place?” and he isn’t even fazed by it. But the moment Patton sees it, it’s a huge problem.
Logan wants Patton to recognise and respect him, more than anyone else. When Patton says Logan is smart or was right, he smiles widely and adjusted his glasses. When Roman says he was right, he just crosses the arms and says cockily “I know”. And when Patton goes from looking to Logan for answers to Anxiety, Logan gets super jealous. “No, you were listening to me, remember how I was smart?”
Logan seeks Patton’s approval, respect and worship more than anything. This is why sometimes he puts Patton down, by not asking him stuff, trying to solve everything. So Patton can see it and be proud
