Felix didn’t exactly know cooking, but he knew vegetables. He could see when something was ripe, when it would taste good, read the leaves and the stems, the colour and the smell, to ensure ingredients of the highest quality. It was why he was so excited to be with Yaz. Realistically, their friendship should have fizzled out years ago. They had met at one of his sister’s work events and bonded over how ridiculous everybody was for taking it so seriously. Yaz didn’t even know his sister, and she hadn’t stayed with the company for long, yet somehow a connection had formed.
It was why he had jumped at the chance to attend the festival with her. Yaz alone was enough to motivate him, but the fact that she had also offered to cook using the vegetables they picked was an added bonus. It made the search even more enjoyable. He hesitantly reached down to observe a large tomato, lightly pressing his fingers against it before raising it to his nose and inhaling deeply. “This one is good!” He called over to where she was standing. “How many did you want again?” @yazsanchez
