Please be aware, due to the nature of how Felix uses his magic, his blog will feature frequent mentions of substances, and substance abuse. All mentions both in posts, and on his main, will be appropriately tagged with Drug twâŠ
Cathy and Augustus Winter are both affiliated with the Tacitum Circle. After Cathy found herself pregnant, the two decided it would be safer to raise their family away from the tensions of the supernatural world.
Determined to have at least one boy and one girl, when they reached their third daughter they decided to keep trying until they finally conceived a son. After seven daughters, they used a spell to ensure the next child they conceived would be male, and Felix has always been suspicious that this spell is what caused his magic to differ from the rest of his familyâs.
Cathy, did her best to raise her children equally, and teach them magic within the comfort of their home. This didnât stop Felix from slipping through the cracks. His sisters demanded the most attention, and despite knowing he was loved, he quickly became used to not being seen.
It didnât take long for Felix to realise he was never going to be the favourite, the smartest, or the most accomplished child. Each of his sisters, on various occasions, had been able to demonstrate powerful magical abilities. Although his magic always worked, his spells remained subtle, and lacking the same strength.Â
When he made achievements and reached certain milestones, he wasnât celebrated because his sisters had done the same, sometimes years before he had even been born. No matter what he did, he couldnât seem to earn the same level of praise, so by the time he was ten he decided to stop trying.

It was around this time that Felix started to rebel, tired of the wholesome family life that left him sitting on the edges, and feeling like an outsider. For the first time, the lack of attention given to him by his parents worked in his favour. He could sit at the dinner table, high out of his mind, and nobody would notice. He fell into a habit of casually using substances, lucky enough to never find himself addicted. Even utilising his magic to create stronger strains of marijuana, or give hallucinogenic properties to every day plants.Â

Lonely, and frustrated, he began to spend more time with his houseplants than with his family. Adding to his collection when he was able to, he eventually realised he was good at something his sisters had never even tried; cultivating life, and encouraging growth.Â
Because it was expected of him, Felix felt pressured to attend college. At the end of his first year he managed to scrape a passing grade, but towards the end of his second year, he had resigned himself to failure. He officially dropped out and saved himself the embarrassment of being asked to leave, reintegrating himself back into supernatural society.Â
At the age of twenty-one, Felix is content in his choice and much, much happier than he was. He moved out of his college dorm but didnât return to his parents, surrounding himself with a diverse group of friends, and joining the Lux coven despite his family's loyalty to Tacitum.
He couch surfs when he is able to, using his old bedroom as a makeshift nursery for his various plants. He has five houseplants, not including the plants he grows for recreational purposes, and each of them has a name. He loves them like they are his pets, often greeting them when he returns home, and praising them for how well theyâre growing. Theyâre a big comfort to him, and their care is quite possibly the only responsibility he actively embraces.

He doesnât have a job, so he uses his skills with natural magic to grow and sell his own substances, often befriending his customers in the process. He doesnât take anything too seriously so he almost always offers deals or free bags. Sometimes he doesnât ask for money, only a warm meal in his favourite diner. The smell of marijuana definitely follows him but he doesnât mind.
