It was far too late for human interaction, was Nana’s first thought as they heard movement at their front door. A part of their mind rang with the fact that it was the witching hour for acts of violence though. They listened for the sound of a knock, but none came, just more vague shuffling. In just sweatpants and a tank top, they moved from the chair they had been lounging in, grabbing a gun from a kitchen drawer and tucking it into their waist band as they approached the door. With all the tension between the gangs, especially in the past week, such caution felt only natural. If it came to gunshots, Nana would be forced to move again, an idea that felt exhausting. A last resort then.
Casually, they unlocked and opened their door only to find “Eoin. What a delight.” Their tone conveyed the opposite sentiment, even as they opened their door wider to allow the man in. He was no threat to them, of that much they were sure. As they turned their back to him, walking back into the apartment, their mind was blank as they searched for a reason that he would be here, only for a greater question to emerge in their mind. “How do you know where I live?” Curiosity and bewilderment were hidden behind their natural reserved timbre, but notes still could be heard. “And what do you want?” They headed towards the kitchen, pulling out a bottle of wine and two glasses as they questioned the man.
