Jun knew that leaving his parents and choosing to abandon his duties to take his mother’s place was a difficult decision for Donghun to make, but Jun was more than proud that he’d gone through with it. He knew either way that the other male wouldn’t be completely happy, but at least this way he could open the calming tea shop he’d always wanted, and he could not worry as much about his brother now that he wasn’t chasing him down every time he left home. However, he knew that he might need an extra little creature to take care of to keep his mind busy, so Jun had gone out and looked for the perfect kitten. They weren’t too much work, but just enough that when he wasn’t working he could focus on something else. He’d looked through multiple litters, searching for the perfect one, but none seemed to pop out to him. Instead of just grabbing one and settling when it didn’t feel right, Jun had waited a little bit longer, and man, was he glad he had. 

When he saw the fluffy white kitten for the first time, Jun instantly knew that it was the perfect companion for Donghun, and he’d purchased the feline right away, almost immediately taking it home along with all the necessities the other witch would need before knocking on Donghun’s door. “Donghun? It’s Jun, I’m gonna come in, but close your eyes and keep them closed with your arms out. I have a surprise for you, so don’t peak.” He shouted through the door before waiting a moment and then entering the other’s place, moving toward him and gently setting the furry creature in his arms for him to hold. “It’s just a small housewarming gift, but a cute one... Go ahead and open your eyes.”

Jun wasn’t talented at all at writing songs. He wasn’t a musician by any means, he just enjoyed singing when given the chance. However, Jun was trying his best to think up interesting ways to surprise Donghun, and as hard as he tried to brainstorm, his mind continued to return to one thing and one thing only. He wanted to write him a song, but it had to be nothing less than perfect. It had to be well thought out, well written, well produced and... Well, Jun wasn’t a professional or even somewhat knowledgeable about any of that. It took him a while of mulling over, going back and forth between wanting to try it out and not wanting to risk it turning out absolutely terrible. 

Somewhere in his contemplation his mind turned to Yoongi. He was from the biggest group in the world at one point. Not only that, but the rapper routinely helped write and produce most of their groups music, as well as his own mixtapes. He was definitely one of the most talented songwriters, there was no denying that fact. Nevertheless, Jun wasn’t so sure about asking the rapper for help. What he was thinking of, this wasn’t normally his style of music. He didn’t normally produce soft songs like this, did he? Well, a bit of research cleared his doubts up. Despite knowing the rapper for his songs in his old group, he hadn’t really looked at music he did separate from them with other people and when he finally did, Jun was blown away. He didn’t peg him as a guy that wrote decent soft songs, but he could admit when he was wrong. In the end, his desire won out and he ended up asking Yoongi for help. At first, Jun thought he would reject his request. He wasn’t a part of his family, the group that he was so fond of and he didn’t think Yoongi would help someone outside the family out with something like this when he could be sleeping instead. Once again, Jun could admit when he was wrong. It took a little while and he had to admit that he’d never seen Yoongi stay awake as long as he did when they worked on the song, but after almost a week of making it perfect, he had successfully written, recorded and carefully pieced together each and every part of the song to be exactly what Jun wanted, and he couldn’t have been more astounded. Somehow, the rapper managed to do everything he had wanted the song to be and so much more. 

Once the song was finished, Jun waited until both he and Donghun had a night alone together with nothing either of them needed to do before he was leading the witch to sit down. “So Yoongi’s been helping me out with something. It’s a gift I wanted to make for you, but I’m not exactly experienced with this stuff... We just finished it up yesterday,” Jun told Donghun as he hooked his laptop up to the tv. “Let me know how you like it.” Jun spoke before he was pressing ‘play.’

What color is your heart? Jun's is yellow and blue, Fubuki's is white and blue.

“Of course that fusion traitor is afraid of me. He’d be afraid of any half-decently trained foot soldier.”  He won’t speak of Mr. Fubuki out of respect.

His heart is multicolor for Manjoume, blue for Fubuki.

♔—- The goddess stared at the bizarre little man that stood before her. In truth, he wasn’t the type of person she expected her father to befriend. Gods, she hadn’t even believed Jörmungandr when he informed her that Loki couldn’t remember a damned thing about his life and didn’t believe himself to be the God of Mischief. He couldn’t remember anything, which meant that he couldn’t remember his children.

     He didn’t remember her.

     “So,” she began. Her expression remained neutral or what was neutral to her. She possessed an intimidating resting face that made it difficult to converse with her without constantly looking off in every direction possible to avoid looking at her. It was even worse when she didn’t bother to alter her appearance and she came before those who dared to call upon her with half-rot hanging from half of her entire body.

     At least she didn’t smell like she was rotting. Most of the time. Helheim could definitely consist of the most unpleasant of smells and the stench sometimes clung to her.

     “You’re the man that’s been helping a deity regain his memories? And how is that going for you? I’m not sure what you would be able to do for him or offer him.” She turned her cold eyes to her father. “Has he actually managed to help you?”

Stranger and Stranger

♔—- Myth and legend wasn’t exactly wrong when it came to Jörmungandr. Like most entities and aspects of mythology, humans got a portion of the story correct, but twice as much incorrect. Not to mention all of the tiny--or massive, depending on how one looked at it--ideas and details that were left out and overlooked. Needless to say, mythology textbooks were not the best place to get 100% accurate information on deities, creatures, rituals, and all things that made up a religion. 

     Jörmungandr was banished to Midgard by Odin. At a young age, he was ripped away from Loki and his siblings and cast out into exile. Jör was meant to live out his days in the depths of Midgard’s oceans, because his size was far too massive to fit anywhere else. 

     Had he been in his natural serpentine form, that would have been one hundred percent true. Jör was massive. The myths exaggerated a bit. According to legend, Jörmungandr was large enough to wrap around the entire world and was often referred to as the Midgard Serpant because of his massive size. 

     But Jör was a product of Loki and Angrboda. Both were gifted and powerful sorcerers who had a knack for chaos and mischief. He, too, was instilled with these traits. His magic was not quite as potent as Loki’s. Jör was never properly taught how to control and utilize his magic because of how young he was when Odin ripped him away from his family, but he was powerful nonetheless. While there were times when the serpent did thrive in the ocean, Jör long since perfected the art of shape-shifting.

     So imagine the serpent-disguised-as-a-man’s surprise when he heard that his only living parent was on Midgard and that he had brought in the assistance of a man to uncover the truth behind his origins. Loki didn’t remember who and what he was? How could that be?

     Many expected Jörmungandr to hate Loki for allowing Odin to steal him, rob him of a family and a childhood, and toss him out like a bag of rubbish, but that wasn’t how the serpent saw things. Loki didn’t willingly let his children go. He loved them more than he loved himself and the serpent never doubted that. Loki was just as hurt and devastated as he and his siblings were, so why hold a grudge against someone who was victimized as he was?

     As soon as he caught wind of the existence of Loki on Midgard, he went out in search of him. Whomever Loki was with, they weren’t going to be able to help him, not the way that Jörmungandr could.
