hiss. no. the sun was setting and the dark was growing and theo refused to believed that she just heard a hiss coming from the behind dumpster in the back alley. hiss. the noise hit her again. “I’m not scared of you.” she said, mimicking all the confidence in the world. theo tossed her bag of garbage into the dumpster and the sound that emitted was far more feral than a hiss. suddenly a flash of fur caught her eye. theo screamed and went running. she rounded the corner that lead out to the street like a bat out of hell. her eyes immediately set on milo who was walking on the sidewalk in her direction. “milo!” she called and began running in his direction, certain the creature was on her heels. it had been a while since she’d spoken with her old friend, but surely he wouldn’t leave her to get rabies or worse. “help me!”

milo often found himself going to the bar that was furthest away from where he worked as a detective. it wasn't that he was necessarily hiding, he just really didn't want to run into anyone he knew from work. not only did he carry the stress and issues of work on his shoulders, he also carried the weight of being the cause of his father's death, and trying to keep his father's mafia business alive. sitting at the bar alone, milo pinched the bridge of his nose, a soft grumble mixed with a sigh leaving the stressed detective's lips. he was slowly nursing his second glass of whiskey, knowing it wasn't going to be his last. as he felt someone sit by him, he did his best not to show any sort of annoyance. he wasn't really a social person, especially coming off of work, but he always managed to keep himself in check. glancing at the unfamiliar face next to him, he gave a small nod. something followed that he wasn't used to, he found himself talking to the stranger. "how the hell can you drink that?" the brunette male said with a slight smirk or a smile, which really could be interpreted as either, gesturing towards the person's drink.

Blast From The Past | Emi/Milo/Lyla

This is it. Emiliana finally forced herself to get on the airplane and do what she knew had t be done. She had been keeping track of him for the past six or so months, taking notes of all the places he’s been and all the locations he has filled. In a way, she was quite proud of him. He wasn’t that loser she once knew.  Which meant he also had money, and that made her reconsider her plans. Maybe she could convince him to get back with her. Even if she had to go along with the tour and spend her next few months in that dreadful van. The thought alone made her shudder, but it was a sacrifice she was willing to do in the name of her Christian Louboutins. “Wait here.” She gave her "friend”--really, she was more of an assistant, even if she wasn’t getting paid-- a pointed look before stepping out of the car and smoothing down her dress. She walked toward the gathering of vans and instruments laid out on the ground, and just as she was about to approach a roadie to ask for his location, she spotted him across the lot, looking just as handsome as she had seen in the latest People magazine. He made it on the magazine without her by his side, go figure! As she stepped closer to him, she tapped him on the shoulder, flashing him her signature sultry smile. “Excuse me...?”

For once in her life, Lyla had no clue what to wear to a party. This one was a big deal. Not only was she getting to meet Kennedy, but it was the fucking Rolling Stone party! She had heard of them plenty of times and they were always epic. So she sucked it up and spent her last few bucks on a nice dress and a decent pair of shoes. She would have to hitch hike to her next destination but hopefully it’d be worth it. Once she was dressed and ready to go, she made her way to Milo’s hotel. She didn’t want him to pick her up and see the piece of crap motel she was staying at. She was already well under their life style, she didn’t want to rub salt in the wound. Once in the main hall, she couldn’t help but stare at all the rich, fancy people that passed by, completely oblivious to her presence. Yeah, peasants would always be peasants.

milo glanced over at the person standing in front of him, unsure of what to do or say. “are you sure? -- i mean... this isn’t very like you.” he cleared his throat and then began to tap his hand alongside his jean pocket, a nervous habit he had picked up over the years.
