...For someone he was supposed to be guarding, this guy has a weirdly trustworthy face, Lancelot can’t help but think. He paces around the room on light feet, looking at the stranger from nearly every angle. It’s not like he’s doubting his mother, but it seems an odd piece of busywork when there’s usually something more interesting going on than guarding a supposedly violent man who was not very violent at all. It’s always five o’clock somewhere in the Lake, and he’d much rather be drinking and celebrating, but despite the natural instinct to have a good time, he’s not going to desert his post. He is nothing if not a dutiful son.
“You haven’t told me your name yet,” he muses. Lancelot himself is an odd thing, seemingly a young man having just shaken off the last vestiges of childhood. His clothes are well tailored and ostentatious, as is the style of the Lake, but his hair is unevenly chopped off at the chin as if someone had simply taken the kitchen knife to it. His bearing is so light that it seems he may float away if you look away for too long, like a lost balloon. “I’m Lancelot.”
Alice sat at her desk in Potions, her silver hair splayed out on the oak wood. She enchanted a quill to copy down everything Snape said, her hand held loosely onto the feather to make it appear as though she were writing the words. If he actually read what the paper said, he would know right off the bat that the quill was enchanted. She had learned the spell from Rita Skeeter herself, but that wasn’t her bragging. Her bragging would be saying that she ended up stealing the glass jar with Rita in it, and Hermione still hadn’t noticed.
Philip nearly jumped out of his skin when he realized there was someone else in the alley, dropping his cigarette.
“Jesus!” he paused and breathed deeply before coughing. “If you snuck up on anybody else like that, you would have been in for a world of pain.” Not that he was exactly capable of administering such a world of pain to anyone strong enough to be a villain or even a higher level hero.
Rex remembered an attack. They had been on their way to the Resolute when they’d been attacked and boarded. He remembered being ordered to fight. Someone had given him a real blaster, and he had been filled with such hatred when he saw the battle droids advancing down the hallway that any fear that he might have felt had been forgotten as his training kicked in.
He didn’t remember if he’d taken out any clankers, but he was surprised that when they reached the end of the hallway, they hadn’t killed him -- they’d stunned him. Then, frozen, they’d picked him up and taken him away to their ship, and then to this... facility, whatever it was, and thrown him into a holding cell. None of it made sense. He’d been taught from the very beginning that clankers didn’t take prisoners, so he had to be ready to lay down his life to destroy them.
But here he was. His squad had laid down their lives -- so why was he still here?
He found out when the medical droids arrived. So they wanted to--what? Experiment on him? Steal his DNA? Take Republic intel right from his brain? He didn’t know, but he kicked and screamed as they advanced on him with a needle. He held out for a while, but he couldn’t get them away -- he felt the prick in his skin and cold creep up his arm as he began to feel sleepy, limbs suddenly feeling heavy as lead.
Some muses that aren’t officially up on my blog yet - these are all OCs. I’m giving you names, faces, and a smol tidbit about them instead of full boring bios.
