   my muse for casterlot has suddenly and unexpectedly come back recently
Hey itâs ya girl Maxie, comin at ya with a promo for a Fate-based Viviane of Arthurian Legend.
Do you like faeries? Do you like swords? Do you like strange women lying in ponds distributing swords as a system of government? Then this blog is for you! Go ahead and give this a like/reblog if youâre interested in interacting, and Iâll give you a look!
    He had the weirdest nightmare about there being more than one Merlin...
despairfilesâ:
Running his hand in front of his face, Shirou tried to make sense of whatever was going on. He had seen a lot of weird things in the past few months, absurd situations that defied any logic: servants, the grail, everything. Any sense of normalcy was long gone, but waking up in the middle of the woods was new. The boy stood up, still looking around in disbelief and then facing the stranger.
â I know this sounds crazy but ⊠Where are we? â maybe if he figured out his bearing then maybe he could start piercing the puzzle together. The other maleâs outfit had some sense of weird familiarity to it, more like a style than something more concrete â Last thing I know is that I fell asleep while practicing at night at home and nowâŠâ his hand reached the nape of his neck, awkwardly. â Hmn? Iâm alright, Iâm mostly disoriented. Thank you for your concern. â Panicking wouldnât help, right now Emiya was trying to figure out his situation before asking for help. Any scrape of information could be great help.
    Lancelot looks up at their surroundings, then back at the other. How specific does the other want him to be?  âYstrad Tywi...? About half a dayâs march from Camelot.â
    Adding yet another mystery to the young man, his clothes look far too thin for sleeping outside right now. If there werenât other signs pointing otherwise, Lancelot would think this was an extremely convoluted honey trap set by bandits.  âDo you remember anything else about what happened before you blacked out? Any odd sounds or lights?â
   Perhaps heâd merely stumbled onto some fairyâs practical joke. It wasnât out of the question by far, heâd seen his mother chastise subjects for spiriting away human peasants for the sake of a joke before. It was one thing when it was for the sake of children, another when it could send an angry priest down on them.
   fun casterlot fact: because heâs not entirely fae heâs sensitive to iron but more in the way some peopleâs ears get red and itchy when they wear earrings that have nickel in them
iterareâ:
      âThat is exactly why I have confiscated them.â Why do you even have these things? Actually he doesnât want to know. âClearly theyâre harmless over here, so you stay over there.â
    âThey were birthday presents,â okay, only some of them, but the principle still applies.  â...What was it humans are sensitive to like iron? Lead?â Lancelot glances at one particular heavy-looking amulet.
wormagusâ:
Kariya isnât certain whether to be offended by the scoff-laugh that leaves the Casterâs lips. âWell, I wouldnât call him that,â he mumbles. That just sounds needlessly rude, no matter how close to the truth such a statement may be.
He also isnât quite sure what to consider the Casterâs less than Caster-esque suggestions. On the one hand, knives and bombs certainly seem like they would be effective tools, these were Servants theyâre dealing with. Kariya can hardly imagine taking one down with poison or a blade. He can barely even walk, howâs he meant to wield a weapon if it comes to it- and how can he expect it to have any effect on a magical hero brought back from the past? The masters, maybe, but how can either of them get close?
But the promise that the Caster will use very little mana is quite the relief, and Kariya does not suppress the urge to sigh. âThank goodness,â he murmurs, hanging his head. âThe âillnessâ, if you can call it that⊠it only gets worse the more mana we use.â
He doesnât assume the Caster will be very amused if he performs some impressive feat of magic and then finds his master dead on the ground.
    Lancelot can sense the otherâs hesitance, even if the other is trying to be kind to him, in the way he pauses.  âMy specialty is enchanting. In itâs own way, chemistry and fabrication lean on that,â Lancelot looks away from his master towards the rest of the room.  âItâs certainly not the easiest route, but if itâs your health on the line, Iâll do that. We have the element of surprise, assuming that theyâve seen or are aware of your Berserker.â
    He turns back, brow furrowed.  âDonât try to protect me or anything like that if we have to fight. I can hold my own, and youâd only get in the way. Iâll take all combat responsibilities myself, so you can focus on giving me the right orders.â Protecting such a fragile master will be a new challenge in and of itself.
    Thereâs a pause as something occurs to Lancelot.  â...Whatâs your name, Master?â The Berserker might not have cared, but it would bother Lancelot if he didnât know.
iterareâ:
     âThat? Thatâs the âConfiscation Corner.â Thatâs all the things Iâve had to take away from you, because you mishandled them.â
    âTheyâre only lethal if I have them!â He wants all his highly dangerous magical artifacts back, Kay.
despairfilesâ:
To stare at the stars is to realize how small you can be in the grand scale of things, to gaze into a distant past that are too far away to reach.  Maybe one day he is going to see her again and they are going to share the same stars. Right now, the comforting silence in that shed was enough and he soon fell asleep during his practice. Drifting in darkness. That was usually how a good nightâs sleep goes for him. Blissful nothingness that only exists in the dreams â dreams, and the night skies.
A bright light penetrated his eyelids, the morning forcing its way to his consciousness. ă Is it morning already? ă His jumbled mind was transitioning into awareness when a voice called him. A male voice. What the?! Opening his eyelids and almost immediately regretting due to the blinding light, the boy tried to shield the sunlight with his arm. It took Shirou a moment or two to process the absurdity of his predicament.
â Gwhah?! â he yelped, trying to slither back before sitting up. â What the hell?!â The copper-haired young man looked around, trying to make sense of his surroundings.
    Lancelot watches him like a cat watching a particularly tasty bird.  âIt seems you still live after all,â thatâs a relief, heâd hate to find a mysterious corpse out here. He stands up straight, looking down at the (much smaller) man in front of him, a hand at his waist near his sword.
    âWhere did you come from? Youâre far away from anywhere thatâs safe for humans.â Most of the people in the castle town around Camelot wouldnât dare come out here, where things less than natural liked to play. People who did tended to end up as dinner for beasts.
    Still, Lancelotâs shoulders are fairly relaxed looking at him, though his lips are pursed.  âDo you need food or water? I had thought it was wise to bring some with me.â Even he wasnât foolish enough to ignore the possibility of getting lost out here. He may be less likely to be eaten, but thirst and cold werenât anything to laugh at.
@aecorus asked:
âEnunciate! Donât mumble!â
    âMom,â Lancelot has half a mind to lay his head down on the table.  âCan we do this later?â He can enchant things perfectly well! He doesnât need his mom to teach him how to chant, even if he is a Caster now!
@despairfilesâ (plotted starter)
    The leaves had just started turning this year, leaving an odd lack of things to do now that all the large beasts born in the spring were slew to protect the villages and all the accounting had been taken care of. Lancelot found himself taking walks outside of Camelot, into the woods and by himself. It wasnât something he had done since joining up with Arthur and becoming so very busy, giving the forest an odd, nostalgic feeling to him.
     Lost in the repetitive movement of his body and small everyday thoughts, Lancelot nearly stumbled over the man before realizing he was there. The boy had bright red hair, and had managed to leave an impression like a snow angel in the pine straw on the ground. Where did he come from? Despite his strange clothes, his soul felt like a bog standard human, so he didnât belong out here.
    âYoung man?â Casterlot leans over his unconscious form, unsure how best to rouse him without causing harm or alarm.  âCan you hear me?â
@burdensword asked:
âWhat are you doing in a place like this?â
   Step one: Donât panic.
   â...Standing here...â
   Failed step one. (Really, heâs been half watching Chaldeaâs common room TV while failing to write anything useful in his grimoire for the last hour. He dropped the pen when she walked in.)
  itâs def not canon but iâve always thought itâd be cool if archerâs design differed slightly based on which route shirou took in his past
