Given how Doloz and Cherryblod didn’t seem all that convinced of Samekichi’s guilt during the game and how much they seemed to support him and Wadanohara in the Bonus chapters I feel like them, along with Lobco have always been fond of and supportive of Samekichi. I could very easily see Cherry and Doloz sometimes having gotten paternal with him, especially when he and Lobco were really young and so I’ve always been fond of the idea of them almost having had something familial.

As for something more romantic that could be cute! I’ve never had the avenue to explore that but it could be an adorable dynamic. I’ve always been more fond of familial connections tho

"Happy Holidays, Lobco." Just a bracelet of shells from their sea. The Shark stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Just so you can have our sea with ya no matter where you go, ya know?"

Lobco’s eyes widen a little, and a rare, genuine smile graces her features. She puts the bracelet on and finds it fits perfectly which broadens her smile.

“This is really, really sweet. Thank you, Samekichi. I love it.”

It wasn't often that Lobco was able to make her way back home. The duties of a familiar, especially to so prestigious a witch as Chlomaki meant that there was always work to do. It had to be said that Chlomaki was a surprisingly lax witch, and rarely gave exact orders but Lobco felt she had a long way to go in earning her right to be serving so powerful a witch. That meant that even when she could otherwise be doing whatever she wanted, the shrimp worked hard to make things easier for her witch and fellow familiars.

Yet it was nice to be home. There was no denying that there was no place that Lobco loved more than her own room in DeepSea Town. Less enjoyable was the increasing sense of not belonging from the blank and confused looks so many gave her when she returned so when Samekichi invited her over for help she was both happy and excited.

That is, untill he explained the situation, and then she just became immensely concerned. Still, it was all the more reason to do whatever she could to aid. Food was always good when it came to comfort, and so she baked a couple goodies, tucking them in a picnic basket before coming.

Lobco honestly wasn't sure what she could do. Samekichi had given her a general explanation of what had occurred, but of course there was only so much he could explain from his own knowledge and the fact that some things were better experienced than told. Lobco had never considered herself exactly good with people. She didn't dislike them, and she liked to believe that she was a fairly patient and understand person, but when it came to words so often they escaped her.

Still. She would do her best.

Tentatively she knocked his door.

Lobco perks up, her antennas bouncing a little and returns the hug happily.

Cherry finds the shark charming. For all his own less than moral acts, he still can’t help but have an appreciation for a good compass in others.

That’s part of the reason he’s come to find Samekichi’s company pleasant.

Another would be that it’s amusing how easily flustered the shark can get--which is what causes Cherry to carefully tilt Samekichi’s chin upward, giving a pause in case he wants to pull away, before leaning forward to press a kiss to his lips.

Lobco’s not sure how to respond to that. She’s made it this far, she supposes that’s true in terms of survival, yes. Yet what has she accomplished in that time? As far as she can tell, nothing of worth. She’s traveled and become one witch’s source of entertainment–she can hardly consider herself a proper familiar at times, and a demon’s….she’s not even sure what she is to Roc. He says he loves her, but surely this isn’t what love is…right?Quite frankly there are times when Lobco wonders if she wouldn’t be more of a meritorious person if she had just stayed home and never left the sea. Sure she wouldn’t have accomplished anything there either, nor changed as she wished to, but at the very least she wouldn’t have forced people like her parents, Aom, Wadanohara or Samekichi to waste energy and time on worrying for her.

Of course…opening up about any of these thoughts would just encourage that sentiment in Samekichi, and she knows he means well. So instead of voicing any of them she just gives him a smile.
