weeks of texting and video calling isn't going to cut it for her any longer. atherese needed to know. she needed to see them. all those nights when she would fall asleep to the sound of their voice and the times when it was the only thing that kept her awake at night. she yearned to know more about them, to feel them. she picked up the phone and dialed their number, "you. me. my place. now." 5 simple words was all she needed to get her point across and she hoped it would work.

the moment she knocked on their door she started to feel the dread of having to face them. she didn’t know what brought her out of her bed and in front of the door at one in the morning but atherese couldn’t sleep. she kept tossing and turning and trying to sleep away the day’s hardships. no matter how many times she rolled around in her bed and fluffed her pillow her mind would always go back to them. “fuck me.” she cursed as she started to walk away and leave with what little dignity she had left from knocking at her ex’s door.
"No, you have the sex drive of a 14 year old boy." Childish but she didn't have any come backs or witty remarks. She was constantly under a lot of stress and she couldn't remember how long it was that she hadn't had sex until he came around. Atherese crossed her arms and sunk into her seat, sighing. It was dumb. She knew how idiotic it sounded that she was going to settle for a hunk with no substance but who else was out there?
"I tried dating around, Flynn. It seems like there's no love in the city nor any decent guys so yeah. I'm gonna settle. I'm sick of the whole lonely shit thing. Atherese had just gotten home from work and immediately collapsed on the couch right next to the woman. She had a long day at work with colleagues refusing to listen to her despite being the boss. She had to make an example amongst the rest in order for everyone to fall in line and listen to her. Her mind was elsewhere as the other was attempting to talk to her but all she could think about was work until one word caught her attention, “Mommy? staring into his eyes, the two had been pining for each other even when they were apart. they broke up for a reason but that very reason doesn't seem to matter right now. especially when he was so close to her that she could lean in and kiss him if she wanted to. atherese had always held back and adjusted to what other people wanted. she would always follow the advice of her friends because she thought they knew her better than she did. at this very moment, she was willing to throw caution to the wind. "oh lee." she hummed as every single thing he said go through the walls she had built over the years they were apart. "i wanna try again." her voice was so small but so sure of her decision. instead of leaning against him, she shifted her position to sit on his lap. her hands around his neck and her big blue eyes just looking at the man who practically had her head. this time the woman plucked up the courage to make the first move where she finally leaned in and kissed him, soft and sweet. a friendship that last over ten years and the only thing that remained consistent in her rather turbulent life. in that same ten years, she found herself completely and hopelessly in love with her best friend that she could never tell because he is the only thing in her life that remained from her past and stayed in her present. she was in love with him and it kills her every single day that she can’t tell him. the woman was staring a bit too long, lost in thought, before he repeats her name to get her attention, “sorry what?” ( @wcrldofchances )
As the sun peered through the windows, Atherese stirred awake to find herself in the arms of her boyfriend. Her head was laying on his chest and she could hear his heart beat. It was comforting to listen to and she was sure she probably fell asleep to it right after last night’s ‘workout’. The woman refused to move an inch as she felt all too relaxed in his embrace but more so transfixed by how peaceful he looked. It was the complete opposite from how carnal his eyes were earlier on. With her chin pressed against his chest, she burned every detail and feature Dimitri had under the sun’s rays until she noticed he too stirred awake. “Hey you.” She hummed softly. ( @stcygcld )

They were at each other’s throats and right in front of their friends. Atherese didn’t like arguing in front of people but they have been poking and prodding. She couldn’t help but bite back and stand up for herself. She looked at the other, scoffing at how they told her to shut up. “Oh that’s funny I thought you liked it when I have it wide open.” The brunette found herself spitting fire at the other and she wasn’t going to let it go. She was tired of being treated this way and she didn’t care if they embarrassed of her. She just didn’t expect them to grab her and push her to the other room. “What are you doing!”
