There wasn’t a single person in this town that understood her with the exception of Emanon. Maybe that was why she’d fallen in love with him so hard and so fast, knowing he might just be the only person in the world that really got her. That was equally as miserable and she was and just wanted a life that was different than this one. 

That’s why she hadn’t told anyone about her little... discovery. That’s why she was sitting in a field in a tattered old sundress and picking at flowers anxious while she waited on Emanon because he was the only person she could tell and he kind of deserved to know.

She turns her head to look over her shoulder when she hears footsteps, a smile tugging at her lips slightly when she realizes it’s the boy she’d been waiting for.

“Hey- Oh my god! What happened to your face?!” She jumps up, dropping various pieces of grass and flowers and rushing over to the other, concern clearly on her features as she gently reaches out and brushes her fingers over his cheek.
