Eyes red and bloodshot, William was sitting outside of a café, hands wrapped around a large cup of coffee that remained untouched while he gazed out, unseeing into the street. The sleepless nights of plotting and planning and searching were starting to get to him. It was driving him mad that such a small group of people without access to any resources were managing to be so evasive. A large part of his carefully crafted intimidation factor was fear; fear of when he would show up and what he would do when he did. Without being able to find those he wanted to intimidate, it was as though something dear had been pried from his fingertips. They were just within reach, he knew it, and he was going to find them if it was the last thing he did. William had a score to settle, and he wasn’t going to rest until he did so.
Fairly certain that someone had just spoken to him, he looked up in slight shock, letting his gaze settle on a tall man whose face William couldn’t register. Most people tended to avoid him out of fear, and that was how he liked it, so he couldn’t imagine just anyone attempting casual small talk with him. “What?”
