She gives him a small, sad smile. She’d been trying to be there for James ever since he turned up in their universe and she found out she was his mother. All she’d ever wanted was children, and though she knew this one wasn’t technically her’s...

After hunting down the little girl during a last round of hide and seek, Natasha scoops the girl up. “There’s my favorite niece!” Of course she’d found her ages ago but had pretended it was much harder than it was.

“I know the feeling.” Natasha replies, letting a soft sigh leave her plump lips. She hated everything about the scenario they’d found themselves in but she knew there was little she could do to change it. “Best we can do is work through it, Clint.”

Honestly Natasha was a tad bit offended that anyone, regardless of their age, would decide she needed protect no matter her injuries or the fact she was losing a lot of blood. “Don’t worry about me, Torunn. It will distract you from battle and make you sloppy. I will heal.”
