The tipping point || Angel & Nox

Angel hadn’t waited once he’d finished the phone call up with Nox, he’d gotten his jacket and left. He’d bid Olivia goodbye and kissed Lily on the head before he was out the door. He was only glad that he knew where the man lived and had a spare key from those times he’d need a safe place to be. Once he’d arrived, Angel went straight up and didn’t even bother knocking, he just let himself in, “Nox... Where you at?” He called for the man, walking further in so he could find the man.

A Risk || Angel & Lennox

--Angel had needed air, but he also had needed a way to escape should everything go wrong.

He knew it wasn’t smart to expose himself like this, especially to the person who he trusted most in the world; but Lennox was right, he needed to put himself out there should he ever have a chance in moving on with his life. Spending time with Olivia and Lily showed him what he really wanted in this world. He wanted someone to be with, he wanted a family, and he had to put himself out there or he would never have that. So now Angel was sitting on a bench, nervously bouncing his leg up and down while he waited for Lennox. More than once he had thought about just calling it off, but knew that he had to bite the bullet, he had to do it. When he heard someone walking up, Angel looked over his shoulder and breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of him, “Nox...”

Emergency Contact || Angel & Nox

Angel had forgotten that Lennox had been put down as his emergency contact. He’d done it so long ago that it hadn’t even occurred to him that they would call Nox after the fire had happened.

Angel was so dazed and confused he could barely put a thought together. Everything was foggy and swirling around his head in a way that made him want to do nothing but fall asleep and wake up in a few days. Angel was dozing, a hand against his bandaged head, as he tried to, will away the pounding of his forehead. As footsteps sounded in the room, Angel wanted to tell the nurse or doctor to piss the fuck off and leave him alone. He was fine, he was sure there were worst off than him. Instead, he opened his eyes to see Nox standing before him.

Words failed Angel and he gasped in air suddenly, “N-Nox, s-sir... I...” He felt guilty they’d called him in at all.

I Trust You || Angel & Nox

Once Dante had calmed him down and got him back to his apartment-- he did the only thing he could do, he went to bed. He’d laid out some food for Ranger before crawling into bed, only bothering to take off his shirt but still leaving on his dirty pants. He just felt like curling up in his bed and sleeping. He wondered if he woke up in a few days if maybe it’ll be all over, maybe it’ll have just been a bad dream. He left his phone on the table, but kept it on silent, not wanting to pick up should Eli decide to call him again. Not really wanting to pick up in anyone called.

The bed was nice, and Angel dozed for some time before there was a soft knock on the door. Angel opened his eyes, but couldn’t find the energy to get out of bed. He wondered if Eli had come and it only made him curl further in the bed. He closed his eyes, toning it out the best he could and only let out a breath when he felt Ranger settle further on him. His warmth and weight keeping him from shaking or panicking.

Truth be told, Clark was a sucker for warm drinks outside of just coffee. Teas, hot chocolates-—they were all things he sought every so often (especially approaching the colder months). It’s with some obvious hesitancy that he even considers the offer.  ❝ I don’t know what I should be insulted by more...your silly claims or the fact I’m allegedly the very last being on the planet you’ve approached. ❞

Every interaction was a game, every reaction a card and Clark held his so closely for fear of losing. Still, the risks were weighed rather quickly and it was determined safe enough. No one ever DIED over some hot chocolate. Right?

❝ I’ll allow it. Though, I shan’t admit to it being the best in the world on the grounds that I haven’t tasted every hot chocolate available on a global scale. ❞

Holiday Exchange || Nox & Angel

Angel really was trying to not let anything that happened between the two of them taint their relationship.

Some days it was difficult, but Angel only had to firmly remind himself that the two of them would never be together and whatever physical comfort they sought from each other was that of friends, it’s all he really had to be aware of. Angel had put thought into what he would give the man and had eventually settled on the three he’d picked. He was pleased when Nox invited him over and now he was here, knocking on the man’s door and waiting to be invited inside.
