Zhen and friends? More like Zhen and her lackeys. They barely respect her at all! But that’s for later.
For now, here’s some mini/boss stuff.
LACKEY #1: THE SLAUGHTERER
Okay, whoo, let’s do this
So this guy is like the lowest in their hypothetical rankings.
Maybe it’s because he seems inapproachable and mean
(Or maybe it’s because he’s tried and still tries to kill Zhen)
Anyways
Let’s say that Zhen managed to get their hands on that little OLD_DATA and manipulated the game to how they see fit.
Slaughterer’s role would be like Leshy’s Trapper (I think)
You got money? Cool, he’s got meat. Now trade.
The meats are like pelts, useless in battle but can get you pretty good cards if you survive long enough.
Now enough of that, it’s battle time.
Beating Slaughterer is pretty ez lmao
It’s literally just a normal battle, but in Phase 2 he pulls a Prospector and slaughters all your played cards.
The cards turn into meats and the rarity/amount depends on the played cards. (Squirrels/1 Health/Small cards = 1 Health, Small meats. Average cards like Wolf and Stoat = Health depends on the card’s non damaged health, Medium meats. Rare cards = Health same as average cards, Great meats.)
Meats, unlike pelts, still have flesh. Meaning you can sacrifice/feed them to the cards in your hand.
And that’s about it. If you beat him, congrats! Now get ready for harder duels. :)
LACKEY #2: THE FRAUDSTER
NOT A FURRY. I REPEAT, NOT A FURR Y—
This boy has a human torso and head! Like Zhen! The arms/hands don’t have fur, it’s a gradient it just doesn’t look like it.
Though the second miniboss you’d fight, offbrand Fundy over here is probably the closest to Zhen.
Not really friends though, more like “You’re cool I guess, I’ll tolerate you” or good acquaintances.
He’d be the trader in Zhen’s game. Give him meats to eat and he’ll give you good cards.
If you’ve got no meats to trade, he’ll take one of your cards to eat.
Either way, he’s getting something.
A little crime boy. If any of the lackeys were to get their hands on the OLD_DATA first, it’d be him.
Now onto the battle stuff.
Slightly harder in battle because he’s a little smarter than your normal miniboss.
He actively compares the cards and numbers on them like you would.
So let’s say you have an OP card played like the Urayuli or the Ouroboros. Fraudster over here would make sure to put a card infront of your OP card so that it’ll die instead of him taking damage/losing points on the scale.
He doesn’t have super powerful cards though. If you have an OP card, stalling is key.
Phase 2 is different though.
If you have an OP cards next to each other, you can kiss the other one goodbye.
Basically, once Phase 2 starts, all the cards you have played will get the Frenzied Hunger sigil.
(Here’s a link explaining what that is)
Though it’s a hinderance at first, it’s extremely insane if used right.
If you beat him, good job! You’ve earned his respect (and along with that, perhaps some information about Zhen and the other lackeys if you bribe Fraudster right).
LACKEY #3: KING
Ah yes, this gluttonous mf
Just putting this here, they’re very big. Taller than the Scrybes I’d say.
Would kind of be like a guard dog to Zhen, using their big stature and intimidating appearance to their advantage.
If you didn’t know any better, you might think that they’re the Scrybe of the Hungry instead of Zhen.
But anyways, onto their role.
They won’t have much of a significant purpose to your gameplay, all they do is give either the Touch of Death sigil or the Bifurcated Strike sigil (you can’t pick, it’s random between the two) to any 1 card you pick. But also that card will lose 1-2 Health in the process.
It’s a gamble, but if you survive then you’re bound to have OP cards.
Now BATTLE!
Considering they’re the final miniboss, this will be fairly difficult.
Alot of their cards have the Touch of Death sigil, and unfortunately they have a good amount of HP unlike an Adder or your typical venomous cards.
If you got some Unkillable cards then you should be fine, just keep stalling.
Tbh stalling is the key to winning against Zhen and her goons 90% of the time.
Onto Phase 2.
So! As you can see in the drawing! King loses one of their heads!
Why?
Well, there was a disagreement in their battle strategy..
One thing lead to another and
One head ate the other, of course.
Because of this, all of his Bifurcated cards lose their sigils and can only strike forward.
But because of King eating his other head, he fed himself and became stronger.
So all his cards gain 1 Power.
Good luck!
DANDANANANDANDANDANNNN!
Look! You made it! Now you can duel with Zhen, yay!
Try not to get eaten ;)
SCRYBE OF THE HUNGRY: ZHEN
So
Majority of their cards have the Devour sigil (can be seen on the same link the Frenzied Hunger sigil from Fraudster earlier).
Probably don’t stall in this bit of the battle, better to quickly finish off their cards to prevent them from racking up Health and Power.
Speaking of racking up Health and Power, that’s one thing Zhen likes to do.
Instead of blocking the most powerful cards, she tries to go for the cards with the least Health. Killing/eating as much as she can to get stronger and stronger.
Get past that and things shouldn’t be too hard.
Like with Fraudster, Zhen gives all your cards a sigil.
Unlike Fraudster, Zhen gives the sigil to all your cards. Including the cards in your hand and decks.
“My my, look at those little things! All this battling must’ve tired them out. I bet they’re just starving right now.”
Guess what? All your cards have the Starving sigil now!
This’ll be tough, hope you have a lot of cards left.
