It was early in the morning and Kate decided to sneak down into the kitchen to attempt at cooking the two of them some breakfast. The sweet little blonde had just turned the Keurig on, and was contemplating making pancakes or simply just frying up some eggs, toast, and bacon.. All the while her boyfriend snuck up on her and she let out a shrill sound as his strong arms embraced her form behind and she pressed herself back against him. She was daunting his shirt from the night before and the dimples in her cheeks were on full display as she wiggled in his arms enough to turn around and greet him with a good morning kiss. Her fingers lightly trailed along his bare arms and her eyes were burning with such intensity.. she loved him and they honestly were in the highlight of their relationship. “Someones happy this morning..” Kate teased him and she gasped as he picked her up and plopped her down onto the countertop.. and she let out another happy giggle as he kissed her neck. “Oh my...didn’t you get enough last night?” She teased as she tried to push him away, ever the playful girl she was.

❝ I’m gonna protect you. That’s my job, and I’m gonna protect you. ❞

   Astonished.  Merlin’s eyes go wide, to se it.  Arthur stands before him. Stands between him and the enemy ALONE.  

     Fearless, heroic.                 a leader.             -- a king. 

   “I will protect you.  It is my duty.  I will protect you.” 

   There is this feeling in his chest, unnamable but for it’s awe.  He recalls the child who once stood here, who Merlin himself trained-- trained for this.  But nothing in dream nor vision nor endless hoping could match this moment, right here.  

  Arthur stands RADIANT, noble.  Ready to pay whatever price he must.  He is awash and alight in the glow of dusky sun.  The glow of COURAGE.  He stands no longer a boy-- 

       ( He is a visage of a dream, a glow upon          THE BATTLEFIELD which Merlin knows.         A bit like deja vu. ) 

    -- “ My King. “

   But Arthur does not stand alone.  For every moment until their last, Merlin stands beside him.  And with each day Arthur grows wiser, grows mightier-- Merlin always stands in awe.  To see prophecy unfold is both gratifying and sad-- Yet always he thinks to himself. 

   I knew from the first day we met.     There is one I could follow.     There is one I could call KING.

Se sentia ridículo, não que ele ligava muito. Já tinha usado coisa muito pior em festas muito duvidosas, aquela fantasia de elefante não era nada, na verdade era até que descente. Ele não podia reclamar muito, a não ser pela tromba que era quase pequena demais para o que preenchia. Por sua sorte, ele não era o único usando aquela cueca de elefante, @a-ouderkirk também usava a mesma peça, assim como o par deles, Calliandra deveria estar usando sua própria fantasia de elefante. A festa já rolava quando ele se juntou aos demais, arrumando sua tromba e para sua sorte a primeira pessoa a encontrar foi Arthur. — Fala pra mim que não sou só eu que tô me sentindo ridículo nisso aqui? - Ele brincou, sorrindo de canto. — Tudo por uma audiência não? Eu preciso duma bebida.

FEW are so privileged as he.  There is a low rumbling purr in his chest at the presence of his PALADIN.  “ I see you have returned safely from the COUNCIL.  I was concerned when you didn’t take me with you, but I see my fear was unfounded.  I trust all went smoothly? “  ( White is not a diplomat.  He JUDGE && JURY to the WORTHY and none so worthy stand before him than his king. ) 

“ Where is MERLIN? “ The FOOL is equal parts wise and irritating -- but a steadfast companion to them.  A talented alchemist on top of everything else he is.  A good GUIDE for their fledgling KING.

Hey Merlin

   “ You do love to temp fate, don’t you. “ 

   But Merlin grants his desire, as imposing as possible-- which is a good bit more than Arthur would likely expect.  He backs the smaller up against the door, presses flush and tilts his head up.  Eyes on eyes, never takes them away-- and slowly kisses him. 

  ( It is fraught with more emotion than Merlin WANTS it to be.  A kind of frustration knowing that their story will always end the same.  Knowing there is no escape from FATE, no matter how he rages against it, no matter how he WISHES. ) 

     When he pulls away, he feels more as though he has LOST some battle.  Hollowed out, his chest cavernous and empty.  As though perhaps this time, when he his heart goes away with Arthur, it may not return.  He frowns, and is fast to retreat from the room, leaving a stunned Arthur behind.
