Merry Christmas, Baby | Casey
@glitchworthremembering
Traveling with your pregnant wife was no easy chore, at least Emilia couldn’t imagine it was. However coming to Casey’s home for the holidays? It was the perfect thing to do, even if Emilia looked like she could play Santa Claus with her bump. Who would’ve thought someone as skinny as Casey could turn Emilia into someone as plump as a roast? But it seemed Casey was fascinated by Emilia’s body changing... and for whatever reason, the sympathy weight was a blessing for them as Casey gained a couple of pounds alongside Emilia. But she simply assumed it was from him staying sober for her pregnancy. He kept his promise about the music, taking time off to write and focus on their family... to spend time together and these past few months? They were one of the better times in their relationship, especially as husband and wife. So yes, this baby was a surprise and a major shock to the both of them, but in the end it seemed this little one was welcomed with love and open arms.
Which is what led them to coming back to England, Emilia wanted to do something with Casey, a final venture before they were officially parents. Based on her doctors advice Emilia still had a few weeks to go based on the babies progress inside of her, so the doctor said it was okay for mom and baby to board a plane and travel across the pond. It seemed to mean everything to her husband to show Emilia around London and to visit his stomping grounds. Taking some time to visit family above and below ground... flowers given and prayers shared, she hoped that everyone would be happy with her and the fact Casey was becoming a better person.
Tonight though, the two of them went out to dinner at one of the nicer places in town and Emilia’s back had been hurting. She simply shrugged it off as bump related and she continued to enjoy her rich leafy greens and sparkling juice because lets face it, alcohol and pregnancy didn’t mesh well and god help her if Casey wasn’t on her about what she ate or drank all the time.. and she loved it. “I almost don’t want to go home.” Emilia confessed as she took a bite of a warm bread-stick and her hazel eyes found her husbands. “It’s so nice here, and I get a kick out of people driving on the wrong side of the street.”
Reaching for her glass she held it up to him with a small smile. “Cheers to us and the holiday.. tomorrows Christmas and I’m so thankful we’re here, together.. the three of us.” She smiled and looked down at her bump before finding her husbands eyes. “I love you.”
