re: matthew tkachuk and non-white girls… I did not see that tiktok but pretty much all of the hook up rumors around him in calgary were with women of color. the biggest one was obviously cassandra but I do remember blog discussions about him hitting on black and latina girls at bars, etc. I think that’s a big reason people were so confused when he got with ellie because she did not seem like his type at all. I am not saying he doesn’t love ellie but it’s kind of like a travis kelce situation where some of us were surprised he was even into white girls lol

The year was already moving in a whirlwind for Florence. It seemed she never had a quiet moment anymore between all the work she was doing to get SCAAR up and running while still making time for her small social life and helping Newt with the Hogwarts course. It was the latter where she found herself tuning into someone's feelings. Dark — fragile and scared. She almost got lost in it, like a screaming in her head until Newt was calling for the end of class and she was pulled from the darkness. Looking around as the students gathered their things, it didn’t take much for Florence to pinpoint where the waves of distress were coming from.

 “Oh, BLESS you!” Alfie sighed happily, taking the cup of coffee and sandwich from her hands. France was great. It was pretty and chill and all that but he was having a difficulty trying to pronounce some of the French stuff that piqued his interest in the menus. And he felt kind of dumb just pointing at the lines and asking politely all the time. “You're THE only French-speaker that matters in this whole school, you know?” He grinned at Dawn, eagerly taking a swig of his coffee. She was also one of the only rich kids he could genuinely enjoy the company of. So much so that he straight up MISSED being camp counselor with her. “How've you been, Dawnie? Feels like we haven't talked for ages! If I hadn't hunted you down for lunch would you have even remembered my face next week?”

“dawn!” lara buckled up her life vest. next, she was pulling her long, black hair up into a ponytail. “besides. we’re already on the boat and about to get strapped into the parasail. it’s a little too late to decided to back out. i’ll even hold your hand.” it was mocking. lara reached forward to tighten the straps on dawn’s life vest--yanking them until they could no longer budge. “look at you. all tucked in and safe. c’mon, babe.”
