☢️- For a controversy or scandal they have been able to keep mostly under wraps
So, I don’t think it’s much of a surprise to anyone ooc that Sébastien has a major drug problem - particularly cocaine. It’s something he has managed to keep away from the public view for his entire career, with the exception of a few close colleagues and several slip-ups during his studies in university. The problem is that every time he gets ‘caught’, he learns from that mistake and becomes better at hiding it.
But above it all, his biggest issue is that he sees his addiction as a non-issue, and he has managed to fool everyone around him into believing it. It’s no secret that he works an insane work schedule with pressure piling up on him from all directions: his own family, the St.Clair, his fellow party members, and then the public. In his mind, using cocaine, benzos, and an array of other stimulants in the likes of adderall is a necessary evil to combat such an inhuman workload. And then to counteract those, he will go to weed and sleeping pills so he can get a moment of rest, when he can. It’s a mess, to say the least. And were it to come out to the press it would undoubtedly destroy his career and reputation.
✯ @thinkjclena PRESENTS A NEW CAREER TEMPLATE PACK!
This pack is more geared towards Beauty related professions such as a Personal Stylist or Makeup Artist, but some of these templates can be used for any other profession too if tweaked.
There's an Appointment Reminder Template, 4 Business Card Templates (the last two are in the form of a webpage) , a Calendar Appointment Scheduler, Client Look Breakdown Template (which is trash in my opinion lmao), 2 Stylist Profile Templates (one is modeled after a fashion styling website), and a Stylist User Reviews Page Template. I put a lot of energy into making these so if you found them helpful in any way, please like or reblog this post. Enjoy!
[ ❣ | DL ]
The Appointment Reminder template can be used to show client bookings. Visual provided under the cut.
The Calendar Scheduler Template can be used to showcase a current booked work calendar. Everything is labeled to adjust with each month. Visual provided under the cut.
The Client Look Breakdown template can be used for makeup artists or hairstylists to provide the products used on one specific client. It's really much more simple than it sounds. Visual provided under the cut.
🖤- For something they secretly wish they could do with your muse
The thing is with these two, is that (at least on Sébastien’s behalf) to the outside world their whole friendship is shroud in secrecy. It heavily relies on it to survive in its current state. Sure, Sébastien can tell people that he’s friends with Ethan and no one would really raise an eyebrow -- a hotshot lawyer from a family of East Side royalty is friends with a British MP, son of former DPM? It’s almost laughably predictable. But the devil is in the details.
It’s different behind closed doors. Because they are each other’s worst enablers, I genuinely believe if there is something Sébastien wants, he just goes for it. Be it their trips to the ranch back in Launceston, or a night of smoking that involves no talking at all, or fix-it hookup to make a bad week go away (and when it’s the latter it’s something that’s never discussed later, and is never done while sober). You’d think he would want more -- perhaps an acknowledgment of things that happen when they’re stupid drunk -- but not really. There’s a comfort in knowing they don’t have to talk about it when it comes to anything. There’s no much yearning for anything but to maintain the status quo. What they have is a perfectly symbiotic relationship; whether it is a good or bad one doesn’t matter. So what perhaps he does wish for, what he won’t really admit out loud, is that he wants everything to remain exactly as it is. It is an unattainable goal, of course. But it doesn’t hurt to try.
👻- For something that scares or disturbs them, but they refuse to tell anyone
As many high-functioning addicts with untreated mental health problems (and despite all attempts to suppress it) Sébastien harbours a deep fear of going off his rocker. His mental health is constantly teetering on the edge of stability and a complete loss of control, and it’s a see-saw ride that makes life almost unbearable without self-medication.
Even though he swears to everyone, including himself, that he’s got things under control and that he knows exactly what he’s going, there is that nagging voice in his mind that insists everything can go extremely wrong at any given moment. Sébastien isn’t ignorant of many people who have walked his path and ended up in disastrous situations; if not ending up in legal or social controversies, then suffering due to health reasons (read: overdosing). He’s well aware that his behaviour has a consistent pattern of self-destruction, and that he could always be just one bad day from fucking it all up. Being closely acquainted with the mafia (especially their dealers), he’s seen first hand how his habits can destroy a person’s life, but partially due to pride, he proclaims it would never happen to him.
The reason he would never share this fear with anyone is that it’s so rational and realistic. It’s much easier to brush off something that’s easily disputable, much easier to laugh about his other problems. This is an exception.
A ‘secret’ of sorts that he probably won’t even admit to a psychologist is that he genuinely wouldn’t care if his parents died. Worse off yet is that this complete apathy is a relatively new development stemming from a childhood and adolescence of fantasizing, in the privacy of his own mind, about their passing, and being quite happy in that make-believe world.
Whilst he never imagined himself as the direct cause of their death, he would often daydream about them getting into some sort of devastating accident that would result in both of them dying. In the same manner one would daydream about future careers or romantic aspirations, Sébastien would play out, in his head, his reaction to when the police would come into the dorms to inform him about the tragic, undue demise of his parents, how the funeral would go about, and what he would do after all that happened. He was well aware of how morbid it was, but with no other outlet for his problems, this was his only form of escapism.
Years of drug abuse made him an expert in compartmentalizing and numbing his feelings, which is why these escapist thoughts are no longer useful to him. These feelings have metamorphosed into his current apathy–he just doesn’t think about his parents, at all. As soon as they’re done talking it’s like they don’t even exist in his world, and were they found dead in some ditch, he doubts he would spend more than a day mourning them.
