They had already heard much about this particular Vorta. From their young charge, because he was worried about them undoing the work he was attempting to do to build her confidence, and from Weyoun, when they had questioned him. Still, they did like to see these things for themself, if only for amusement’s sake. They gave her four days to adjust to life aboard their ship, then he made his way to the small medical bay to search her out.

Even given Weyoun’s descriptions, they weren’t expecting Vanath to be so faultlessly polite. After all, the child had rather unusual tastes in Vorta behavior, and he had been the one to insist on bringing her on their little adventure. The Founder smiled just slightly and, after two long moments, bent to lightly touch her hair. Rise, Vanath.

Reluctant as they remained to curb the young one's desire to explore as he wished, Odo was so certain that he knew everything, and they had gotten into yet another argument which sent the child stomping off to sulk rather than focusing on the exercises that would work to secure the sense of self he was so fond of. They watched him, for a long moment, but then they folded their hands comfortably behind their back and turned to his attendant.

"Weyoun." They still spoke aloud fairly infrequently--enough that the Vorta was likely to be somewhat startled--but his charge's attendant was a convenient solid to practice with. "Rest. Or walk with me, if you desire."

When Odo stepped out of the Link, the very first thing he saw was Weyoun. That, at least, was as it should be. He knew he didn't have long before his new guardian made their way out after him, so he didn't have the luxury of time. No, he had to be absolutely certain this was who it was supposed to be now. Odo took three steps toward his attendant, then, without a word, turned him to see the back of his neck.

Then he practically melted with relief, his whole form softening. Much more gently, he turned Weyoun around to face him, then set a hand against his cheek. My good and faithful servant. "There's been a change of plans," he shared. "We're to have company, for our journey back to the station." And as if on cue, another changeling stepped from the Link, modeling their own appearance on Odo's memories of Bajorans. It was impossible to identify a gender from their presentation, but they could be identified as well past middle age and stern. One might have pegged them as a politician, based on dress. They looked doubtfully at Odo and Weyoun, then began to move toward the little ship, obviously without any patience for the flights of fancy that inspired the young to spend so much time reassuring and explaining.

Odo watched them go with annoyance and dismay, before turning back to Weyoun. "Did anyone harm you, in my absence?" Even as he asked, he was digging into his memories to check for himself.

They couldn't help but be fond. Rivan was the pinnacle of Vorta excellence, bred and groomed for his exact role. And now he was being trained expertly by Weyoun, which was going splendidly. But be was also full of such wonder. They had only been thinking of Weyoun, when they'd made the request for additional support, and of the benefits Weyoun's lighter workload would have for their charge, but now that he was here, they couldn't help but take at least some of his time. They reached to stroke his head again, affection so prominent as to be unmistakable through the touch. Tell me what Weyoun taught you today.

[[ semi-plotted starter for @sixthweyoun (Rivan)

It wasn't the first time that they had seen Rivan upset. No, it was the fifth. Or, perhaps, the fourth, if they were to disregard the most minor of the four previous incidents. Mostly, they'd chosen to let Weyoun comfort and set to rights the younger Vorta, but now... Well. They didn't want him to leave, and more than that, they didn't want to send him away, or to make him feel as though this flaw was reason enough to be sent away, for any longer than it took to calm down. They had the sense that Rivan may need a review in the steadfastness of the bond between Founder and beloved attendant.

Stay. They gave the impression through a gentle touch--two fingers brushing away a tear. Then, shoving aside reservations about impropriety and undue affection, they slowly and deliberately drew Rivan closer into an embrace. They didn't use words to express anything else yet, but they hoped that their love and forgiveness was evident through the pseudo-Link initiated by their touch.

At the touch, they went immediately still and unusually ridged, and they stayed perfectly motionless for two seconds before turning toward the human and blinking deliberately. "How unusual. Was there a particular purpose for that touch?"

They noticed Weyoun's entrance as soon as he crossed the threshold of the replimat, but they waited a moment before turning just enough to naturally hold out a hand in his direction. They may have practiced speaking for the purposes of existing amongst solids, but that didn't mean they had any desire to compete with the noise of such a busy place. Have you noticed, they began, with an accompanying series of images, how even the youngest of them are eager for the barest connection? It made them extraordinarily sad, and that bled across the connection like watercolor. They'd been feeling particularly lonely this week, and to see so many others wishing for the same thing they did, but them without the ability to ever experience it...

They blinked, then put on a wistful sort of smile. How fairs your newest helper? That, at least, was a spark of joy. The young Vorta was so new to everything and watching him experience that was a beautiful thing for one so old as them.
