the shouting from 648 greenville circle had grew louder as the minutes passed. naomi had rushed to her little bedroom and grabbed a bag tossing in anything that she could fit. some clothes, some simple medicines, toiletries, her id and then what little bit of money had had stolen from her mothers wallet. $87, that was all? she knew she wasn't going to get far on $87 and a handful of percs but it was all she had and her time was out to get away from greeneville circle before the police had shown up.
nudging past her mother who was still screaming obscenities at her she headed down the road, the little blue bag thrown over her shoulder. naomi wasn't sure where she could go or how she would get there but she knew the best place to stay was on the turn ramp of the high ways. anyone getting on there had to be getting out of town and that was just what she needed. the heat beat down on the young woman as her thumb stuck out, she had seen this millions of times passing the highway and no one ever had an issue getting picked up. what was the problem with her? just when she was fixing to start walking along the highway she noticed a older truck slowing up next to him. walking up to the window she had noticed a man close to her age in the driver seat. "are you getting out of state?" was all she had asked.
