"Ehhh? Is that true, Mitsuba-kun?"

Nene's stunned face makes her look a bit like a goldfish - or at least like she's about to swallow one - as she reacts to Mitsuba's statement in her usual animated manner. She stays that way for a moment longer, but then she seems to slowly curl in on herself a little, expression falling as she finds herself unable to meet his eyes.

"What'll we do... there's no way they'll believe us..."

"Why are you like this? I don't understand!"

Nene's frustrated yelling could easily be considered a little childish, but she's never been able to control herself at times like this. It's something she's a little embarrassed about in herself, honestly... but right now, in this moment, she really couldn't care less.

Tsukasa is just... so frustrating! The things he does, his attitude - they scare her, and yet something about him throws her off balance every time. There has to be more to him, something she's missing - Nene doesn't have a clue as to what, but she can't stand the idea of not figuring it out when it could be so important!

"Do you like Hanako-kun or not? I just don't get it..."

"Mitsuba-kun... that's enough..."

Nene barely manages to force the words from her lips, as despondent as she is. She sounds like she's on the verge of tears; fragile enough that even a breeze could tip her over - and no doubt shatter her into a hundred jagged pieces.

Truth be told, she doesn't want to give up. In fact, she's desperate not to - because she knows exactly what's awaiting everyone when she does. The thought of that fate is far more terrifying than anything she has to suffer through to avoid it - and yet, even knowing that, why can't she find the strength to move? Why can't she find a way forward? She's had enough. It's too much...

"It's not making any difference... there has to be another way...!"
