As another wizard sat across from her table in the library, Vivian lifted her gaze from the pre-Auror notes scribbled in her journal. Marceaux’s deep blue eyes pierced through the other wizard, and she sighed loudly, her annoyance obvious.

Sirius slipped into the sitting room, not bothering to ask if he was welcome. It was easy to imagine he was not. "Heard a rumor you were scheming with Dumbledore. Some things you have to see to believe." Sirius smiled, a friendly smile on the surface. But it was no secret how well Sirius and Severus got along. He didn't trust this snake and he didn't need a reason. It was wholly unconvincing that Dumbledore would happily allow Severus to so easily influence the Order's interests. Whatever Severus knew, it must be juicy, and Sirius was intent on finding out.
