Date With Death - Chapter 1, Page 3

Who knew Death was so flashy?
It’s just a regular old pentagram necklace. Sure, it’s trying a bit too hard with the evil and whatever, but there’s nothing menacing about its appearance. It’s almost disappointing, actually.
As soon as Raven touches it, the nausea disappears. She lifts it gently from the box and puts it around her neck, and as she does, she gets an intense feeling of being watched.
Ah, so it’s haunted. That’s cool. Maybe that means Raven will constantly have a ghost following her around! To be honest, what with her weird spooky paranormal psychic powers, she’s always in the presence of a ghost in some way or another, so the more she thinks about it, the less exciting the idea becomes. At least the necklace will boost her aesthetic a bit, and it's another cursed object to add to the shelf.
Every time she tries to look for the source of the feeling, it moves, staying in the corner of her eye. Well, ok ghostie, that’s annoying. Raven keeps spinning in a circle, trying to look at it. But it keeps moving away.
“What are you doing?” Luna asks suddenly, making Raven jump.
“I found this necklace in the box on the shelf and it’s haunted and the ghost keeps avoiding me,” she goes back to spinning around. Luna gives her a look.
“The moving van’s here. We’re gonna have to get our furniture and stuff sorted out.”
Raven stops spinning again. “Ah.” She takes the necklace off, mutters “I’ll deal with you later,” and follows Luna along the hallway, back outside.
