Episode Digest: 

Back in... oh... I don’t know. 2019? I heard about The Mighty Nein. Came across so many posts. Fanarts. I saw glimpses into a story, into a world, I couldn’t quite comprehend at the time. At a distance, it looked complex, and initially I thought ‘I’m not going to have the time to get to this.’

And now, It’s 2022. I have finished Campaign 2 of Critical Role, after blasting through Campaign 1. I could not participate in the fandom as they went through this epilogue together with the cast. But at least I know this - none of this is social hype. None of this is the excitement and love borne of contagious popularity. 

This is legitimately.  Such. A good. Story. 

About love. About family. About pain and sorrow and grief, in many of its forms. It’s taken me in, like it has taken in thousands of others, has twisted me into a knot of yearning. 

This might be cheesy, but what a wonderful world we live in. What a wonderful world, where 8 friends can come together to a table and tell a story about things which never happened, about people who never existed - and through their sheer joy and friendship and imagination make us care so much about these 9 fuckwits. 

What an honor. 

I also want to thank all of you guys, who have been reading my Quick Reacts to the episodes, and have replied/reblogged/commented on my liveblogs. 

I want you to know that through your interactions, it’s helped me feel a little closer to the live-watching experience, to help me feel like I’m not enjoying this alone, like I have friends with me and we’re all reacting together. Even if I’m a little late, this is a great thing to get to behold.

For me, it’s the duality of Essek’s ending. he learned love and he took it with him, spent years with the closest companion he’s ever known... but he was on the run, always and forever, watching Caleb’s hairs go grey, and then not seeing them ever again.

It’s learning that companionship is what will heal you, but forever needing to be on the run.
